I decided to make an ice cream truck with a little boy inside driving it. Another thing I created was a rotten torn heart with an arrow piercing it. Lastly, I made a zombie cat hugging a brain.

A few changes that I noticed about the ice cream truck were a cage window, an ice cream horn, and an officer with their hands up. The heart I created became refined and had many holes and the arrow piercing the heart was still seen. My zombie cat became a cat that was sitting on a chair but instead of hugging a brain it was yarn instead.

I decided to make a tortoise by pinching its shell and feet while also creating a flat belly. I made a snake by rolling out the clay to create its body.

Originally was going to make heartbroken hearts that would connect to each other but it would have taken a long time so I decided to make something that was square. Created cubes while elongating them and became rectangles with patterns on the side and on top being an indented circle.

The rectangles reminded me of this one cube toy where you would have multiple and can create anything in elementary school. I modified my abomination into stick figures. Either combined module was great and I just wanted to explore what else I could make with my rectangles.

At first I was totally confused and interested in my object because I had never felt something like that before and even when I got to see it at the end of sculpting it, I was so surprised. I was feeling lots of things and tryingto recreate my object as accurately as possible but I suppose I missed some details.

I created a pool with a floatie, a tool box with a wrench and a rabbit. The pool with a floatie indicted that I can swim which is a lie. The rabbit meant that I had one before which is a truth. Another truth was the tool box with a wrench and it meant that Ive hurt myself using a tool box before.

Placed my flattened clay on a roller and then turned the wheel which then fattened it even more. Used a card evening out the clay piece going side to side. Cut out a piece of my clay using a wall relief template that had a length of 12 inches. Created an almost perfect rectangle clay piece using a card to even out the side. Measured my outline for the borders using a knife. I had left over clay and had began to prepare it for tomorrow to create the borders.

Flattened out my left over clay and then placed it on the roller. I turned the wheel and flattened the clay piece even more. I cut the flat clay piece with a stick. I used a card to even out two pieces of my now clay borders.

After much refining on my clay borders using a card and a stick, I began to slip and score my pieces. Mr. Stout taught me how to slip and score, and helped me by adding one side of my border. I began to slip and score the rest and tried to make it close to perfection. One side came out uneven which is bothering me. Due to the cleaning bell, it still needs some refinement and I had left over clay borders.

Hand flattened my clay and placed it in the machine that would flatten it even more. Then, I would cut the pieces to create sticks for my chair. I had missed a step which was using a card and going side to side. I decided to use the card method on the sliced pieces because I did not want to restart but that will lead to more work to make it even but I did not mind.

I flipped over my wall relief and was experimenting with methods in how I would get rid of a tall right triangle piece off of my two clay plank pieces. I used a wooden needle tool but the outcome was bad so I returned it into its original form for only one of the clay plank pieces using a card and a stick.

I used an XL ribbon tool and I had to trust the process. When I was using my tool it ripped my two pieces in half because I was putting too much pressure in pulling as the clay was dry from the inside. I reached the pieces together using water. After much getting rid of my clay piece using the tool in one go, I neat it out using a card and water. I used the piece I scrapped off from the clay planks to add shape to the top as I would be curving the clay planks pieces for the chair.

I used my card to neat things out, as well as with the stick. I continued to add clay to my first clay plank curving it by putting clay on the front and back on the top. I did the same process with my second clay planks but the thing was it was taller and I meant to keep it that way to give the chair a warped feeling. The only issue I was thinking of is if these two clay pieces will withstand the rest of my sculpture.

I am trying to make the head piece of my chair. I attached 2 separated clay pieces and cut the side off at an angle because for my reference it was too long if I had not cut it. I did the same process but with smaller versions and attached it underneath the bigger pieces. I am planning to add one of my clay planks on top and then shape it. I went to check on my wall relief because I felt like there were holes opening up as I would put away my clay pieces. I did in fact find holes, I grabbed another bag and threw the previous one away. When everything was set for my wall relief to return to my locker, I organized it a bit.

I attached the two clay planks together while adding some more clay to even out the side. I used an XL ribbon tool to shape it roundish to fit perfectly with the 2 other clay planks to hold the top. I used the card to neat the clay plank pieces. I used a knife to cut small clay pieces to fill in uneven places.

I started to work on the other pieces and cut both ends, making a swoop on only one as I ran out of time. I decided to set up my planks that I have completed so far, to see my progress and it's looking great. I will be attaching 4 pieces in the middle of the chair making a tic-tac-toe layout.

Cut one of my clay planks pieces in half and cut it even more to fit in the middle bottom in between the main 2 clay planks.

I used a card to neat it out and used a knife to cut it. I made 2 holes into my big header clay plank piece so I can input 2 other clay planks in between the other 2 on each side. I used a medium ribbon tool to create the holes and shaved down the 2 clay planks pieces in the middle on each end, one having more shaved and the other a little. I cut the top ends like a swoop as I was still experimenting how they would fit nicely into the big header clay planks piece.

I decided to work on my wall and tried my very best to create that wall texture but it did not come out how I wanted it to be. I added mini clay balls smearing them onto the clay and used the back of a paint brush to create indents for some texture. I will be adding more small clay balls as that is how my wall looks like and I even searched up references for support. I will still definitely work on it to reach that envisioned look.

I started working on the horizontal clay planks pieces that would connect with the vertical clay planks pieces in the middle to create a tic-tac-toe layout. I scrapped the ends using a medium ribbon tool and it was much easier using a different tool. It was difficult trying to make them the same on both ends as I would have to add clay back to where I had initially dug into. I even used a knife to cut some pieces off at one side to the longer one so it fit snugged. I also used the knife to lightly mark where I would use my medium ribbon tool for tomorrow.

I am almost done with the vertical pieces as I need the horizontal pieces to fit. I am still planning whether to also scrap the horizontal pieces to stay true with my chair design or decide not to so it can stand out. I finally finished shaving the pieces out of my vertical pieces but I am stuck to do the same to the horizontal pieces. I decided I am going to shave the horizontal pieces a bit so it can still appear afloat. I used a large ribbon tool and a knife to cut some small pieces to fix any small mistakes while scrapping. This is also the layout for the chair.

I decided to work on the cushion. I know I will have to cut it half to hollow it out as it will be thick however I would be scrapping the bottom of the cushion making it where I wouldn't have to hollow it because of it. I will be adding a swirly pattern to the cushion.

I focused on scraping the clay indents so that it can connect with the other 2 I made. I was able to finish one and managed to somewhat work on the next one using a large ribbon tool. I made some mistakes and applied clay to fill in.

I managed to scrap both pieces in each indent on my second piece using a ribbon tool and clay for any uneven edges. I began working on my wall relief by using a large ribbon tool and small ribbon tool, digging into the side of it trying to create that ripped off wall piece. I used a paintbrush to take out any scrapped clay pieces stuck within. I tried to mimic my house's wall texture but it was difficult as I was trying to make it bumpy using small clay balls yet it didn't give wall vibes. I used a new tool as shown on the bottom left corner, I don't recall the name. It was okay but did not do the job.

I began working on the cushion chair frame by applying clay to the sides and the way I did it was using a knife to cut long right triangles and wet both materials so I could join them together. The final looked curve which was what I desired. I did the same process from the side pieces to the long rectangle piece shown in the middle. I used a card throughout my process to neat it out and used a ribbon tool to make the edges sharper. I started scrapping a hole to attach other clay pieces to stay true with the engineering of the chair using a ribbon tool. I began using a tub of slip with a fork to recreate the knock down wall texture, advice given from Stout. It looks great but I needed to refine it more for the next day. I continued scraping the side of the wall relief using a ribbon tool and I was not sure how much further I should go but I winged it and stopped before making it to the end considering other elements I would possibly add.

I added more slip using a knife and it finally gave off that knock down wall texture. I continued to scrap the edges using a large and small ribbon tool. I make a square slab and tried to create those white wall pieces at the bottom. I used my finger and ribbon tool and knife to make the design and then added slip and slit method to attach it to the wall and I did the same method to the wall to join them together. I wanted the wall relief to transition from a ripped wall to a originally attached to a wall normally.

I first adding the horizontal small piece in the middle as a sort of base for the rest of the pieces to get attached to. I attached the main support wood planks using the slip and score method with a fork. I refined the bottom piece of the wall a bit using my finger and knife. I used paint brushes to texturize my wood chair pieces that weren't attached before and with the other pieces.

I was working on hallowing out my big horizontal plank at the top using a large and small ribbon tool, used the needle part of a wood tool. I cut the pieces into 4 parts so it made it easier with the hallowing out process. I reapplied clay on places that I scrapped too much and when it showed creases I did them too. I had scrapped my side cushion chair frames even more due to it being big and including the front part of it using a ribbon tool and card to neat it out. I cut my cat bed in pizza slices using a knife because it was too big and I continued that process till it was small enough. I hallowed out the cat bed but cutting it into 4 pieces and then into 8 because it could not reach in some places using a ribbon tool. I flattened out a big chuck of clay using my hands then inputting it onto a flattening machine and using the wall relief template as a reference to cut using a knife, to create my box.

After needle work and ribbon tool in hallowing the inside of the big top plank chair frame I slip and slide to attach everything together. I scrapped my chair frame cushions even more using a ribbon tool and neat it out using a card. I try to finish scrapping other plank pieces using a ribbon tool. I dragged my finger to outline where the box borders would be placed on my flatten clay piece.

I noticed that my support planks was bigger than my finger nail at the top and since I had already attached the pieces I had to hallow it out within the circumstance. I hallowed the two pieces using a large and small ribbon tool, and needle. I created small clay covers that would cover the hole I had made. I worked on my box by cutting the bottom piece of the clay then creating trapezoids for the side pieces. I created two holes on each side box clay pieces using a large ribbon tool, referencing a food market box. I used a knife to cut the two hills I made for the design of the bottom piece of a wall as I thought it ruined the perspective I believe.

I attached my side box clay pieces using the slip and score method. Remember how I made 2 holes on each side? I messed up as that is not what I wanted and filled in the longer side box clay pieces and only kept the shorter ones. I neat it out using a ribbon tool and card.

I created the shapes of the cat ears and tail of my cat bed. I used a card and a ribbon tool to slant the clay sides at the top and made them face downward a bit and curve. I experimented on textures and I went through 3 textures and picked one out of the 3 which was the foil method. The first texture was fur which used a needle tool and the second was poking at it using a needle opposite end of tool and lastly was creating a foil ball and rubbing it against the clay to get some texture.

I hallowed out the inside of the cushion using a ribbon tool. I also used a ribbon tool on shrinking the size of my horizontal clay planks pieces due to them not fitting inside the chair frame. One clay plank piece was fitted into a hole and the other to support clay planks. I pushed into the horizontal pieces to get a cool look.

I attached the 2 horizontal pieces using the slip and score method however I had to trim the pieces due to them being too big and not able to fit using a ribbon tool. I made chair legs by shaping the clay and then attaching them. I continued using the ribbon tool on hallowing out the sides of the cushion and using a card to neat it out.

As I continued working on figuring out what type of texture I wanted for my cat bed. I searched up on Google for textures and found this cool texture using foil. I crumbled the foil into a ball and pat it down onto the clay and gave a cool texture and I did that to each piece then the ears and ball. I added tic-tac-toe lines onto the base of the cat bed and textured it using the foil balls. I tidy up the look of the box using a card and ribbon tool. I scrapped any excess clay oozing out of the box in and out while also sometimes smudging it against the box borders.

I attempted to add a design on my cushion referencing my actual chair and I was trying my best to like it but I got rid of it after school by adding slip. I used a metal tool to create the swirly design. I tidy up the clay cushion plank frame using a ribbon tool and card as well.

I added slip on the cushion chair frames clay planks, and then attached them. I let them sit there so they can harden and add clay below to support it. I worked on creating the cat bed on the mean time. I attached all the cat bed pieces together by adding slip and scoring on the cat bed pieces and then placing them onto the box using the same method as well. However, beforehand I had to slice them in half using a knife to shorten it even more yet again because it was a tad big. After fully attaching the cat bed with the box, I worked on the chair again. I slip and scored the top of the cushion chair frames to attach the cushion on top so I could then attach the box and cat bed all together but I had ran out of time so I did not get to that part till tomorrow.

I cut the bottom base of the box using a knife because it interferes with the rest of the material to fit snug. I tidy it up using a sponge and adding slip or clay on places that showed cracks. I slip and score the top of the border of the cat bed to add the ears. I did the same method but for the ball and placed it on the top right back corner of the box. I rolled out some clay for the tail and attached it using the slip and score method.

I dont have a photo for after school as I forgot to take it but basically it was the same has the previous photo however the tail had broken so I decided not to reattached the rope like tail due to that possibly occurring again. I worked on texturizing my wood planks by using a paint brush. I got rid of clay pieces sticking out and refining the edges using a ribbon tool and metal tool.

I shaped clay into another pair of chair legs for the front instead of the back and used the slip and score method to attach them. I began engraving a cat paw on the cat border of the bed using the other end of the needle wooden tool. I attempted creating ripped out newspaper pieces for the corners of the chair and getting the texture using foil. I had cut the pieces for the newspaper using a knife. I rolled out clay to create the rope and attached it using the slip and score and it was much more stable and thick. I worked on getting rid of the dust and crumbs using a pain brush. After all the small crumbs were sort of gone I retexurized my walls because of the process of attaching my chair using a knife and slip. I used a small ribbon tool to help get rid of really small specks of dust that did not want to leave even after using my brush. I used a large ribbon tool to get rid of any excess and refine some places of the sculpture.

I wanted to recreate a moment from memory when my first pet cat named Mono disappeared one rainy night by creating his usual sleeping placed near the window which included his chair, box filled newspaper, and at top his cat bed. I did not want to add a cat as it took away the meaning of him being missing. I first wanted to create the wall to be crumbled and almost as if ripped out from memory. I added a chair that bent down to portray the sadness I felt rather than leaving it straight as it gave character to the sculpture as a whole. I added his box with the newspaper sticking out in the corners and placed his cat bed on top. I engraved a cat paw onto the cat bed indicating he left his mark on that very bed where he once slept. I wanted the entirety of the sculpture to not be perfect and wonky because it is hard to remember something from memory compared to looking at old photos. I want the viewers to peer down into the cat bed to see that the animal meant to sit or sleep there is no longer there and I want them to feel this feeling of emptiness. This sculpture is a tribute to Mono's disappearance and how it has impacted my life to be patient and reflect my actions as a pet owner.

I grabbed my leftover clay from the last project, to start our new one. I pounded my clay to flatten it out using my hand. I brought my flat clay to the flatten machine and it looked uneven so I redid my flat clay pieces by ripping it apart and smashing it into one ball to flatten it again.

I brought really dried up clay to return the softness of the clay to my house using a spray bottle and a knife. I cut my dried up pieces to smaller pieces then spraying them with water and putting them together. It became one huge ball and I cut it to smaller pieces like 5-6 small balls.

I flatten the clay ball with my palm then inputting it to the machine. I cut a piece out of the flat clay, using the wall relief template to help create my cupcake cup using a knife. I used a sort of roller like sword at one end of the clay piece. I flatten out my second clay piece using the machine then putting it to the side.

I cut my flat piece of my cup by a bit in the bottom using a knife because it was too big for my liking. I slipped and scored my cup after smoothing it out using a extra large ribbon tool, a wood card and my card to smooth it out, then using a knife to spread the slip to get ready to score it. I applied clay on parts that had holes or creases when bent using my fingers. I smoothed it out using a wooden rib. I used a small ribbon tool to smooth things out. I used a fork to outline the indented lines I would make around the cup using the bottom end of a paintbrush. I refined the indented lines, used the paintbrush by making the dents a bit deeper and focused on indenting it more on top, to create a c shape facing me.

I continued working on the rest of the inside, making indented lines using the end of a paintbrush. I kept trying to neat out the lines outside of the cup in only one section because I pushed in too deep and now they bend easily, I used a small ribbon tool to help. I used a small ribbon tool to fix the design to look more like a cupcake wrapper making a pointy mountain then a hill. I was bent over to create the pattern onto the cup (pointy mountain and smooth hill) using a small ribbon tool which was working more on the inside. I scraped a little on top of the cup so it could be defined. I used a big brush to take out small boogers from scrapping a lot. A quarter left to work on and decided to work on flattening more clay for my project because I was preparing to take it home and work on it throughout thanksgiving break. I got 3 cylinder clay pieces and flattened it using my palm. I put it into the flattening machine and took it out and used a wooden rib to go side to side. I was winging it in how much clay I would need for my project and asked Lupe if i could have some of her clay which she has a lot. She takes a huge bag of clay that was super moist. She helped taking out of the bag. I used a string cutter and cut the clay in multiple slices. I took each slice and made them into a sphere. I let them set out first though. I placed each clay on the wall relief template so the wood could take the moistness out of the clay, including one big clay on mine. I kept combing the spheres together and each 6 clay spheres got bigger.

Through much reshaping my clay to create the cake part for my sculpture, I finally managed to create a circle big enough that would fit my cup. I used the end of my wooden tool almost like an exacto knife to make the circle. The circle had great thickness and I began shaping it to a wide bowl but It was not exactly like how I wanted. I decided to bend the the edges inside the bowl, thus creating my cake. I refined the piece using a small ribbon tool to get rid of any extra clay while also reapplying clay for any mistakes made. I did not attach the cake part yet to the cup instead just place it on top to see how it would look.

I also worked on the whip part of my cake however I did not take a photo sadly but I will tell what had happened. I grabbed a flat piece of clay and cut it into 7 long clay strips using a butter knife. Since they looked like cheese string, I got rid of the box shape look and it look more like half sliced circle and then I flipped it to the other side to make it round. I did the same process with the other 6. After all 7 pieces were done, I swirled them around with all stack with each other. I grabbed a kitchen rod for the middle to support the long swirl building to the top.

I used a small ribbon tool to make indents into the shapes I placed like half of a diamond. I would use the squarish side of the ribbon tool and drag it and make its way with each step to the top, I would do the same but flipped other. I worked on the ears for the rabbit which I did not attach yet as one was shorter than the other. I made another fence pole but this time it was way longer and chunkier which I did not like so I shave off some pieces using a wooden tool. I created a coil so I would add it on the top and bottom of the bowl. Of course the coil was uneven but I was not going to go through such a challenge and tried to work with it. I added a slip to the rim of my bowl after it had dried the day before a bit and I scored it. I smooth things out a bit and let it dry. After it dried a bit, I worked on adding a bottom to it which I made another coil before and slipped and scored it on.

After working really hard in the weekend, I was able to create all the pieces required to put them all together. I did some last final touches by adding texture using my previous ice cream base and added drips of oozing ice cream on both sides. I slip and scored the ice cream onto the bowl. I refined the lines of the ice cream. I was imaging the set up for my topping and made a hole for the cone so it would be stable for it to stand. I only added slip on the surface of the ice cream to be the whipped cream and attached the cone first then the blueberries and the chocolate. I would come after school to readjust the chocolate chip and add more texture and shave off bits of pieces of the bowl altogether. I was basically almost done with my bowl but decided to store it away and begin working on another bowl.

I used my finger to create a long rectangle shape then rounding it the edges and bent it which made a gummy worm. I made a round half a cylinder and used a wooden tool to outline the piece diagonally. I dug a little bit deep and angled my piece at a 45 degree angle and scooped up and rounded each bump and made a marshmallow. I rolled out clay into a sphere then squished the piece and let it dry. I shaved the sides and the top and bottom using the exacto knife and made 4 sweet tarts. I cut a big chuck of clay into smaller parts and rounded them out. I cut them in half and corrected the piece by making it look like a circle on top but had a flat bottom which I used the exacto knife to do that part.

I made half a circle and created a swirl by using a wooden tool and would be my chocolate piece. I did the same process to make unicorn horn. I create one short pike and one long spike by pushing my side of the clay down while the rest was up and refining it using a wooden tool. I added lines in one of my gummy worms using a wooden tool and added more clay for the head. I made another gummy worm but may longer than the rest. I made a big chunky gummy worm using the wooden tools. All the things I have been thus far for my bowl including the ice cream bowl have been howled out beforehand. I made another chocolate piece that was oval shape and had a dent in the middle and managed to do this with my finger and a wooden tool for refinement.

Since I had experience now in creating ice creams I did the same process as before but other parts were handled more differently. Instead of using a circle measurement I simply use my fingers as reference in creating a circle. I hollowed out the ice cream base and added the sides of the ice cream. I began texturizing the piece using the needle part of my wooden tool and dug in. After some drying and rid of some clay and expanding, I began to add lines as I was reference from both really ice creams and toy ice creams to get some idea to how to properly texture which included videos too. I worked on the chocolate chip by making a clay piece into a square and after it had dried I began shave it on a 45 degree angle on the sides using the exacto knife part. I flatten out the bottom. After it seemed good enough I shaved in-between the chocolate chip to create layers of a chocolate chip bar. I continuing shaving the piece till it looked okay to me. I made whip cream although it looked good, I was not sure how I would add it to the other pieces that already worked well together. I worked a blueberry and I used the exacto knife to create a * outline and cut in those line and let it dry. I pulled the pieces up a bit and bent them downward. I tidy it up by making the pieces little hills. I would do this to the second blue berry.

I continued refining the bowl's rim and bowl by using a large loop tool and a small one. I got rid of some clay and add some when it was necessary. I noticed that my ice cream I made beforehand was too small for my bowl and so I had to restart. I was hesitant to the idea but I marched onward. I worked on the cone of the ice cream and took a different approach. I flattened out a piece of clay and cut the pieces to resemble the pattern of a cone. After that had hardened a bit, I added fresh clay onto the pieces and as I pulled it out it gave me a cone texture. This should have been effective but I did not let it dry enough and it came out uneven in some parts. My solution was to use the chocolate chip from my previous ice cream I made because it was square and it would make it easier to shape my cone pattern. I applied pressure to the flat piece and managed to get my cone. I cut the pieces into a triangle and cut some pieces off on the side.

I created one eyeball using clay and getting rid of clay using the wooden tools. I first outlined then dug the the sides and smooth them out and lifted the iris. I know that eyes are not typically made this way but I wanted an eye that had volume.

I also created a heart shape chocolate with a lined design. I used wooden tools for this mainly using the exacto knife to crate the lines and smoothing out the piece.

I touched up my icecream bowl a bit and went to work on the bottoms for my chocolates. I experimented in how they might be. I flatten out some clay and cut long strips of it. More wheat paste and newspaper being applied to my mask. I decided to work on my horn so I grabbed wire, bent it in half, and twisted it. I rolled newspaper from the corner till halfway I placed my wire rod in and continued rolling my newspaper until it reached the end. I wrapped the newspaper with wheat paste all around the horn and bent it to shape. I added clumps of newspapers to begin making the swirls of the horn.

Stripped and cut my paper into small pieces and drenched them into the wheat paste to create clumps of paper balls and bent them to however I wanted to shape the skull better.

Continued the paper mash method modifying and removing some areas. Helped the head of my snake to look more like a snake by adding paper on the center of each side. Worked a lot on the skull side rather than the horsr

Began working on the horse side by using the paper mash method which is putting scraps of news paper into wheat paste and then applying it to the mask. I cut a wire and made a new paper ball and inserted the wire into it and continued coating the eyeball with news paper.

I began adding long and wide strips of newspaper and covered all the paper mash area with side strips on the head. Added paper mash on the horn to fix the proportions. I cut a wire piece with pliers and folded it then twisted and finally stabbed it into the snakes mouth. Which I covered it with a thin layer of newspaper.

I continued covering the horse mask with long strips of paper plus the snakehorn and used paper mash to fill in any areas missing volume.

I continued to cover my whole mask with long strips of news paper. I unfolded the bottom piece of my snakehorn to prepare placing it in a hole at the middle of the head by cutting that hole using a razorblade. I worked on the snake horn from bottom to top by using paper mash and long strips of newspaper.

Scalped my entire horse mask by using my hand to spread the material onto it which repetitively took out of a bowl

Painted the skull side of my horse mask with a paintbrush, using a bone like color. I wiped off some paint if it was too much, so it can appear textured.

Mixed bunches of colors to paint my horse skull by using brushes and paint. I worked first on my horse side later my snake then my horn then again my skull side. I used water and paper towels to damp or remove some areas.

Painted white on the horse eye then add pink streaks. Painted the dots on the alive side of the horse. Used black to outline areas of the skull. Painted black scales on the snake.

continued outline areas of the mask with black paint, using a paintbrush. Began adding red charms on the bloody part of the mask. Added sand in the eye, inside of the nose, and top head of skull with 3 different sand colors using a brush and glue.

Added eyelashes and golden snakes using glue into their designated area. Paint blue dots using a paint brush. Added blue sand using glue and brush.

Painted long strands of hay looking things with a dark purple paint using a paint brush. Used some card stock and hot glue to put the hairs strands together then attach them to the back of the mask. Added hot glue to position the hair to some areas.
