I agree with Miguel's perspective of the "american dream. " because I don't think anyone would want to be a servant in mexico. As an example on page 27 Miguel says "In mexico I was a second class citizen." He also say's "I would have stated that way my entire life. At least here I have a chance, however small, to become more than what I was. " So this supports him in the "american dream. "

I agree with Miguel ´ s perspective of the American Dream because his boss forced him to dig ditches because a group of men from Oklahoma came and they said they would work for half of the money. Miguel ´ s family was worried because they needed someone to work or they would starve but he didn´t quit and kept going because he needed money.

I agree with Esperanza's perspective of the American Dream because she pays her mom's medical bills every month to help her mom get better. I also agree with her because why would they only ask Miguel to dig ditches and not the white men.

I agree with Miguel´s perspective of the ¨ American Dream ¨ because I don´t think anyone at all would enjoy being a second-class citizen or a servant in Mexico. As an example on page 27 Miguel says, ¨ At least here, I have a chance, however small, to become more than what I was. ¨ he also said, ¨ And I would have stayed that way my entire life. ¨ That is why I agree with Miguel.

I agree with Miguel because he is a lot more optimistic than Esparanza and on page 28 Miguel says "Aguantate tantito y la fruta caera en tu mano."
