With this in mind, and thinking about reporting on risks associated with the coronavirus pandemic (or, of you are sick of thinking about it, climate change):
1. Think of 2-3 research questions that you could add to this field of knowledge (for instance where reporting of this risk differs from the past case studies, or on an aspect you think may have changed since 1999, or to de-westernise the field). The section of the article entitled "So what do we 'know' about 'risk reporting'?" from p62 should help stimulate some ideas.
2. Consider whether each research question is about the production of news, the content of news, or the audience for news (the 'circuit of communication'), and what research method(s) would therefore be suitable to answer it.
3. Identify at least one methodological challenge with that research, thinking about identifying a sample of relevant news items, how you will delineate the risk you are focusing on - how broadly or narrowly defined, how you would narrow it down by media and timeframe, or what frames or discourse you would identify and how. The section entitled "Researching 'risk reporting': key methodological and theoretical considerations" from p57 will be useful.

When it comes to risk reporting, social media feeds on it and helps it grows, feeding it with misinformation.
- to research this I would start with defining what is risk, and what causes certain articles to go viral on platforms such as Facebook, and also why misinformation on such topic is breed and spread with such ease.
