"Time keeps on slippin', slippin', slippin'... Into the future..."

Taylor would listen to this song a lot because his way of managing and organizing manufacturing focused a lot on conserving as much time as possible. He knew that time was money, and that you had to take advantage of it.

"Steel town
Living in a steel town
Free and proud
Steel town "

Taylor would have this song because he spent much of his career helping with steel manufacturing. One of his first jobs was being a laborer at Midvale Steel in 1878, and then later helped to manage Bethlehem Steel Plant in 1898, where he gained fame and cemented his success.

"This is a story about control
My control
Control of what I say
Control of what I do"

Taylor would appeal to some of his darker aspects with this song about control, because one of the main contributors to his success in management was taking away control from laborers and giving it to their superiors. Taylor demanded maximum control over workers in order to improve efficiency and speed of production.
