We capped off our Black History Month celebrations with a performance from "Women of the Calabash". These phenomenal musicians performed music from Africa and the Caribbean.

Ms. Felicetti and Mr. Goldstone gave us a good workout at our Annual "Kids' Heart Challenge". Our students raised over $6,000 during the fund raiser.

During "Respect for All" Week, students had an opportunity to celebrate their heritage, explore mindfulness and make some new friends on "No One Eats Alone Day". We also honored students who show exceptional kindness and celebrated Valentine's Day as well as the 100th Day of School! 

All of this, in addition to our usual academics, left everyone a little breathless, as evidenced by one of our students pictured below. This group performed music and told stories from Africa, the Caribbean and Black America. Here, the performers are playing rhythms on gourds. The gourds are fruit like pumpkins. They are scraped out and dried in the sun. After about a month, the gourd becomes as hard as wood.
