She has worked nationally and internationally on the issues of climate change, renewable energy, and environmental justice. She is also the founder of the White Earth Land Recovery Project- where she attempts to protect plants and heritage food. In 1994, Winona was nominated by Time magazine as one of America's 50 most promising leaders just under 40 years of age. She graduated from Harvard University where she wrote extensively on Native American and Environmental issues.</div>]]></description>
