Hi everyone! I'm Sarah and I study what's happening in strong classrooms around the world on the Global Learning Lab team at Teach For All and create learning experiences like these around those classrooms! I'm co-hosting this Global Classroom Learning Loop course with Rachel. We're excited to have you! I'm based in Washington, D.C. One way I best learn is to take notes - usually on my phone - when I'm listening to content being presented to me. :)

I'm Rachel Brody and I focus on ReImagining Education at Teach For All. My favorite part of my job is learning and collaborating with teachers and teacher coaches. At the moment, one of the projects I'm working on (and very excited about) is this upcoming Global Teaching Summit. :) Prior to joining staff at Teach For All, I led work related to special education and learner variability at Teach For America and prior to that, I taught in Washington, DC for 6 years - mostly 4th grade at a bilingual spanish/english elementary school.

This is the first Learning Loop I've ever facilitated and I'm happy to be co-hosting with the amazing Sarah King. Please always feel free to reach out to us with any questions, ideas, concerns, etc. We are happy to be learning alongside each of you!

One way that I learn best is through hands on practice. I've recently started rock climbing and mountaineering - and this experience has really proven to me that the best way to learn is by doing. There's only so much you can learn in a book or through listening. Practice/practice/practice helps to overcome fears and improve!

The last 2 years I was teaching French in a regional school of Armenia, very near to the capital by distance but very far from it by its challenges. At the moment I am teaching French in Anania Shirakatsy International Lyceum, IB Diploma Program. Also I am Member of Alumni Advisory Council of Teach For Armenia and try to do my best to solve educational problems that are typical to my country . I adore walking and enjoying the warm weather outside, just wandering different people in the streets and have a funny time with my family and friends .
The best way I have ever learned and continue to do it is the practice, when every single idea is in "action " and also very very often I learn from kids who are able to give answers to the questions that you would never expect to solve as faster and easier than they do🤗😄

Teaching in an experimental school in Hyderabad, India, motivates me to try new ways of learning and sharing every day. I'm now responsible for developing a sustainable, scalable model for mastery-based learning aka competency-based learning. After 5 years of teaching high school English, I'm fairly convinced that teaching and assessing everyone at the same time (which is the mainstream pedagogy in the Indian subcontinent) results in huge academic loss for many learners. I'm in perpetual search for solutions that provide learners the maximum control of their learning - to master skills and to shape more consistent attitudes aligned to the inherent talents and aspirations.
I love trekking, writing poems and looking forward to a lot of learning from you all.

Teaching has been for me one of the greatest opportunities of putting in action things that really enjoyed learning about them (for example, philosophy and cognitive studies). Today, I lead an innovate program on initial teacher training, and one of the big challenges we confront it is how to make visible the learning process of educators and students. And how we can transform each school in true learning spaces for all its learners (adults, adolescents and children). These are my motivating questions, among many others, that I hope to talk and learn from you!

(I share this photo with my son, Santiago! He and my wife, Catalina, are coming with me to the Conference, and the trip will be a great learning experience for all of us!)

Greetings from the Negev, Israel :)

I am H. Hassan, and I have been teaching English for 4 years in the south. Using Padlet and other platforms like Rojooms have highly contributed to the learning processes of my students, especially to low-level students in heterogeneous classes. For instance, in writing assignments, when students are requested to share their supporting ideas, low-level students can read their peers' thoughts and learn from it. Padlet helps me personally to check their progress, and in some cases their social dynamics. Finally, Padlet is more engaging, easy to use, and more effective in finding teachers who share similar areas of interests.

I've been involved with Teach for Nepal for the past three years, mostly helping with the English Fellows, which I've really enjoyed. Before that, I spent a few years in rural Nepal both teaching and working as a teacher trainer, and before that, I worked as a teacher in Sydney for about 5 years.

Like many others here, to learn well, I need a goal and purpose for learning, time to process, time to read and make notes, and finally opportunity to discuss ideas with others.

Hi everyone! I completed the Teach for Australia program in a rural town of 6,000 people 3 hours out of Melbourne in 2016. Since then I've been the Year 12 Coordinator and a senior secondary high school English teacher in one of the new developments built in Melbourne's outer-west. I'm really passionate about minimising barriers to students completing Year 12 and I'm focused on improving the options and pathways available to our students as they complete their final year of schooling at Manor Lakes P-12 College. Building student voice and agency in the classroom and in the community also really matters to me.

Creating mindmaps works really well for me as a learner. I tend to feel a bit lost or stuck until I can make sense of how ideas fit together. Once I've conceptualised the relationship/s between ideas, I become super keen on testing my thinking with others.

I'm really looking forward to meeting you all in a couple of weeks and look forward to learning more about your contexts and from your experiences!

I teach Estonian and literature to middle'schoolers in a smallish rural school near Tartu, the university capital of the country. I really enjoy teaching and spending time with my students, as well as working to fully understand the complex system that is education, in order to minimize barriers within it. Education truly is the most interesting field I could even picture, and once I learn to not be super stressed out half the time, I'm sure I will have a wonderful career in it.

I learn best by combining individual reading and research with discussions, which is usually my favourite part. Also, having to complete a project and then present it has proved to be useful.

I look forward to meeting all of you. All your profiles seem so interesting, I really can't wait!
