"Connected but Alone" by Sherry Turkle

As we continue to live in this world, technology plays a role in our development. Through time, innovative technologies proves how humans keep on chasing technological advances.

Sherry Turkle mentioned that "technology change who we are". I disagree because I believe that human is the highest living specie in our planet. Hence the level of thinking as well as the form of life are more excellent than anything else. Technology will never change who I am because it is just a thing, there is no life in it and cannot do same thing as what I can do. Ourselves are responsible in the change we are experiencing not technology. We are capable of controlling our own body, will, and ideals. Our behaviour and attitude toward techonology lead us in the change that Sherry Turkle mentioned. In addition, we are changing because of the undisciplined way in using our technology that sometimes we are already dependent to it.

Sherry Turkle also stated that open and personal interaction with everyone must be always be observe. Based from my experiences, we should welcome everybody as part of who we are for us to grow and prosper. By means of this, we can be able to express easily our own self and speak out our ideas and thoughts freely and clearly. I experienced the feeling of being alone even if I am already talking to many people in messenger and facebook. Despite the many conversations in my messenger, I still felt the pain like no one cares for you. However an open and personal interaction with someone is a big help for us to look for the better meaning of life. This claim of Turkle taught me that we should never be alone in real world and technologies are just part of modernization.

Based from Sherry Turkle's claims, we must learn how to manage the things that we have before putting them as part of who we are. Technology cannot change who we are but can manipulate us. However because of being open and having a personal conversation, we learn to show the real us without the manipulation of technological advances. We should always remember that technology has its advantages and disadvantages. Look for the better side of it and do not practice its disadvantages.
