Classes start at 8:25 am.

Drop off is from 8:05 to 8:25 am in the classroom. We accept late drop off as we don't leave for recess before 9:20 but please be mindful that morning time is an important social time and some kids really benefit from free play / morning circle.

Pick up is from 3:05 pm to 3:30 pm in the classroom.

For the children who are in aftercare:

You can pick up your child :

- from 3:30 pm to 3:45 pm: In the playground supervised by us.

- from 3:45 pm to 6 pm: In the playground, supervised by the enrichment team.

Voltaire is our Emotional support cat.

• We celebrate birthdays monthly, for example, if 4 students are born in November, we will celebrate the 4 birthdays at the same time during an afternoon at the end of the month of November.

• We bake a cake with the kids, if your kid is the one celebrating their birthdays, they'll be able to chose some friends to bake with them.

• We usually celebrate in the afternoon between 2 and 3pm.

• Family is invited to celebrate with us and you'll get an email to let you know when it's your turn.

• If you come and celebrate, we ask you to bring some fresh and cut fruits to eat with the cake. Please do not bring anything else (except fruit juice if wanted).

• We will be giving your kid a birthday bracelet as a little gift from their teachers.

This playful practice through tracing, drawing, hands-on activities, and songs helps children develop the fine motor skills and awareness they need to become strong writers.

We chose “Cool” because we work hard to be kind, respectful, and helpful to each other, and that’s what really makes us cool! We picked “Capybaras” simply because… why not? Capybaras are friendly, calm animals who love to stick together, just like us!

We are excited to celebrate our class identity as we learn and grow together this year.

As we sing the Mat Man song and build him piece by piece, students practice naming body parts, following directions, and noticing how shapes fit together. It’s a fun, hands-on way to get ready for handwriting while also building vocabulary and cooperation skills.

• Recognizing D in words and identifying other words that contain D.

• Saying the /d/ sound and listening for it in spoken words.

• Reading simple three-letter CVC words (consonant-vowel-consonant) with D, such as dog and dad, by segmenting each letter sound.

With Thanksgiving approaching, we’re now building on that conversation: students are starting to name and talk about what makes them feel thankful. This helps them reflect on their own experiences and express gratitude in meaningful ways.

We will leave EB around 9:15. In Tilden, we will enjoy a guided nature walk from 10:00 to 11:00 a.m., where students will have the opportunity to observe and explore the natural environment. 

After the walk, we will have a picnic lunch in the park before heading back to school. We plan to return around 1:00 p.m.

For this trip we will need drivers and chaperones. If you are available to drive students, you need to follow the EB requirements (insurance +  fingerprint). 

Please be on the lookout for a spreadsheet to be shared by Cecilia and Lauren for you to confirm your child’s transportation. If you are available to chaperone, please let Cecilia and Lauren know how many students you can accommodate at your earliest convenience

We will be departing from the Ferry Building at Jack London Square. Please note that the Bay Ferry has recently changed its boarding policy and no longer guarantees group space; boarding is now first come, first served.

To ensure our group can travel together, we ask that you drop off your child at 8:30 AM at the Ferry Building in Jack London Square. This will give us enough time to gather and line up ahead of the morning commuter rush. Out of respect for regular commuters, if you arrive late, please do not join the front of the line and instead wait with the general queue.

We also ask that adults purchase their ferry ticket in advance. If you have a Clipper card, it can be used for this trip.
