-Diction: "I was filled with the bitterest sensations of despondence and mortification...the fatal effects of this miserable deformity." pg.81
-"I looked upon them (Agatha, Felix, and the old man) as superior beings, who would be arbiters of my future destiny...I should first win their favor, and afterwards their love," pg 81. Is this possible foreshadowing of the family's role in the monster's future? Also these quotes show that the family has almost become his source of nurturing and guide to life.
-Imagery: "Her hair of a shining black raven...her eyes were dark, but gentle...he complexion wondrously fair, each cheek tinged with a lovely pink." pg. 83
Simile: "...her voice flowed in a rich cadence, swelling or dying away, like a nightingale of the woods," pg.84.
"I heard the details of vice and bloodshed, my wonder ceased, and I turned away with disgust and loathing," pg.85. This shows how the monster responded negatively to the idea of murder, which leads me to believe perhaps he didn't kill William.
