         <description><![CDATA[<p>The Cochlear Implant was invented in 1961 by William House and John Doyle.</p><p><br></p><p>The development of the cochlear implant started with the discovery that the electrical current could convey meaningful sounds to the brain. Unlike typical hearing aids, cochlear implants consist of an external device and a surgically implantable part.</p>]]></description>
