Why is this an important message to consider?

Even though the song seems to be about the author reflecting on life, it is actually about a man reflecting on his life and how the good and the  bad times made his life good. It shows how you should appreciate everything that happens in life.

The rhyme scheme is not very consistent, but the last line of each stanza rhymes with each other. The Rhyme scheme is:

What do you notice about the meter from line to line?  Is there a consistent pattern?

There is not a very consistent pattern, but the first two lines has stressed first syllables.

What is the refrain and why is it meaningful? 

The refrain is the letter M and it is important because it shows the importance of him doing it his own way not anyone else's.

How does the singer use repetition throughout the song?  What's so important about this line or phrase that the singer has decided to repeat it throughout the song?
