         <title>SOIL COMPOSITION</title>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>Soil composition is an important aspect of nutrient management. While soil minerals and organic matter hold and store nutrients, soil water is what readily provides nutrients for plant uptake. Soil air, too, plays an integral role since many of the microorganisms that live in the soil need air to undergo the biological processes that release additional nutrients into the soil.<br>The basic components of soil are minerals, organic matter, water and air. The typical soil consists of approximately 45% mineral, 5% organic matter, 20-30% water, and 20-30% air. </div><div><br></div>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>The point on Earth's surface farthest from its center. A <strong>mountain</strong> is a large landform that stretches above the surrounding land in a limited area, usually in the form of a peak. A <strong>mountain</strong> is generally steeper than a hill.<strong>Mountains</strong> are formed through tectonic forces or volcanism. These forces can locally raise the surface of the earth. Mountains erode slowly through the action of <a href="https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/River">rivers</a>, <a href="https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Weathering">weather conditions</a>, and <a href="https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Glacier">glaciers</a>. A few mountains are isolated <a href="https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Summit_(topography)">summits</a>, but most occur in huge <a href="https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mountain_range">mountain ranges</a>.</div>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>Earthquakes, also called temblors, can be so tremendously destructive, it’s hard to imagine they occur by the thousands every day around the world, usually in the form of small tremors.Some 80 percent of all the planet's earthquakes occur along the rim of the Pacific Ocean, called the "Ring of Fire" because of the preponderance of volcanic activity there as well. Most earthquakes occur at fault zones, where tectonic plates—giant rock slabs that make up the Earth's upper layer—collide or slide against each other. These impacts are usually gradual and unnoticeable on the surface; however, immense stress can build up between plates.</div>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>A volcano is a hole in <a href="http://www.encyclopedia.com/earth-and-environment/geology-and-oceanography/geology-and-oceanography/earth">Earth</a>'s surface through which magma, hot gases, ash, and rock fragments escape from deep inside the planet. The word volcano also is used to describe the cone of erupted lava and ash that builds up around the opening.Volcanic activity is the main process by which material from Earth's interior reaches its surface. Volcanoes played a large part in the formation of Earth's atmosphere, oceans, and continents. When Earth was new, the superheated gases within it streamed out through countless volcanoes to form the original atmosphere and oceans.Volcanoes are found both on land and under the oceans. </div><div><br></div>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>A geyser is a spring from which <a href="http://www.sciencekids.co.nz/sciencefacts/water.html">water</a> and steam is ejected forcefully into the air at heights ranging from less than a metre  to over one hundred metres. Geysers are a quite rare phenomenon on Earth due to the precise conditions that are required for them to form. They are mainly clustered near active volcanic areas.There are only around one thousand known active geysers worldwide.Geyser formation requires a particular combination of three geological aspects, water, intense heat and cracks/spaces in the ground that form a type of underground plumbing system.</div><div><br></div>]]></description>

They result from the failure of the materials which make up the hill slope and are driven by the force of gravity. Landslides are known also as landslips, slumps or slope failure.Some of the most common types of landslide in Australia are earth slides, rock falls and debris flows. The movement of landslide material can vary from abrupt collapses to slow gradual slides and at rates which range from almost undetectable to extremely rapid. </div><div><br></div>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>The <strong>rock cycle</strong> is a basic concept in <a href="https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Geology">geology</a> that describes the time-consuming transitions through <a href="https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Geologic_time">geologic time</a> among the three main <a href="https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Rock_(geology)">rock</a> types: <a href="https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sedimentary">sedimentary</a>, <a href="https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Metamorphic_rock">metamorphic</a>, and <a href="https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Igneous">igneous</a>.  An igneous rock such as <a href="https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Basalt">basalt</a> may break down and dissolve when exposed to the <a href="https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Earth%27s_atmosphere">atmosphere</a>, or melt as it is <a href="https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Subduction">subducted</a> under a <a href="https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Continent">continent</a>. Due to the driving forces of the rock cycle, <a href="https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Plate_tectonics">plate tectonics</a> and the <a href="https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Water_cycle">water cycle</a>, rocks do not remain in equilibrium and are forced to change as they encounter new environments. The rock cycle is an illustration that explains how the three rock types are related to each other, and how processes change from one type to another over time.</div>]]></description>

Together, all these particles are called sediment.etamorphic rocks are formed under the surface of the earth from the metamorphosis that occurs due to intense heat and pressure. The rocks that result from these processes often have ribbon like layers and may have shiny crystals, formed by minerals growing slowly over time, on their surface. Igneous rocks are formed when magma cools and hardens. Sometimes the magma cools inside the earth, and other times it erupts onto the surface from volcanoes. </div>]]></description>

Historically, landfills have been the most common method of organized <a href="https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Waste_disposal">waste disposal</a> and remain so in many places around the world.Some landfills are also used for waste management purposes, such as the temporary storage, consolidation and transfer, or processing of waste material.A landfill also may refer to ground that has been filled in with <a href="https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Rock_(geology)">rocks</a> instead of waste materials, so that it can be used for a specific purpose, such as for building houses.          <description><![CDATA[<div>he Earth has distinctive convective behaviour, described by the plate tectonics model, in which lateral motion of the oceanic lithosphere of basaltic crust and peridotitic uppermost mantle is decoupled from the underlying mechanically weaker upper mantle. The reason for differentiation at the lithosphere–asthenosphere boundary is currently being debated with relevant observations from geophysics and geochemistry . Water is thought to have an important effect on mantle rheology, either by weakening the crystal structure of olivine and pyroxenes by dilute solid solution, or by causing low-temperature partial melting. </div>]]></description>

Abiotic resources are usually obtained from the lithosphere, atmosphere, and hydrosphere. Examples of abiotic factors are water, air, soil, sunlight, and minerals.<br><strong>Biotic</strong> factors are living or once-living organisms in the ecosystem. These are obtained from the biosphere and are capable of reproduction.
