         <description><![CDATA[<div>Literacy tests were tests that was given out to mostly black men, and if he could not pass this test it was pointed out that you could not prove a fifth grade education. This impacted voting rights for African Americans because a lot of men didn't pass so they had no chance of winning a better president.</div>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>I believe that the south tried to take voting rights from African Americans because they were racist and they didn't want Americans to vote for who they wanted them to vote for. I think if everyone was able to vote the south would have picked a better president, and slavery would have ended way sooner then it did.</div>]]></description>
