So for this I played with a girl centered toy for thirty minutes and a boy centered toy for thirty minutes. For the girl centered toy I played with little barbie dolls. It was not a very fun playing with, even holding the barbies. I am used to seeing little three year old girls playing with barbie dolls, not eighteen year old boy. Overall playing with a barbie was kind of weird, because when I was little only girls played with barbies. Playing with the little barbies has changed the way that I look at them. For the boys game I played Call of Duty: Black Ops, which is a first person shooter video game. I played this game because it is centered more towards boys because of the action and violence.

For this question it just says to "watch feminists videos", which I did. I watched quote a few videos about feminism on you tube, but I will only be discussing one of them. The title of the video is "I'm A Feminists, But I'm Not..." on a channel called boldly. So the video is basically feminists stating that they are feminists and then saying "But_____" and they would presumably say something about why they are a feminist. Another thing that stuck out to me while watching the video is that people were also proving stereotypes about feminism wrong. For Example on woman said "I'm A Feminists, But I still wear makeup." The video as a whole showed me how anyone can be a feminist and that it is not just a trend but a belief and it is the idea that we need to change our minds and our preset notion of gender rolls and norms that society has made for us.

So today I attended the science night at Hillcrest High School. It was felt very odd being there at a science night, because I haven't taken a science class for two years. I had forgotten how things were in the good old days when I was in chemistry learning about half-life and balancing chemical equations. So the science night was interesting because I got to see all of the science projects. I had forgotten how fun it was to test come up with a hypothesize and prove your hypothesize right or wrong. But today I got to see it live and in person. Looking at all the projects made me reflect on the past and made me think how much I missed taking a science class, since science is my favorite subject.

For this question it says that you have to "watch a foreign film with subtitles" and I did that. I watched the movie "Spirited Away". It is a very good movie. It has a well written story line and the story is executed well too. The movie is a Japanese anime that is about a girl that gets lost from her parents and ventures into the land of the spirits. It kind of got annoying reading the subtitles, but it was also interesting hearing a a film in another language other than English. In the end watching a movie with subtitles has taught me that I have to be able to read fast and watch the movie at the same time.

This was pretty fun just sitting outside in nature for an hour. It was interesting just sitting there in silence while the rest of the world kept being noisy. While I was sitting there for an hour I could hear all different kinds of birds and animals. I heard birds of all shapes and sizes share there little chirps or tweets with the world. I also could here the fluttering of birds in flight as they glided in the sky up above. I also heard the scurrying of little rodent on the ground as they scurried to find a new hiding place. I could also hear the rustling of the trees around me as the harsh wind came through

This is the Bible to Black language
The word "nigga" without an r means likewise riend or homie in the black community. Even though that people have a negative connotation to it since the history behind it is really bad. Another slang word is "deadass" which means that you are telling the truth. Or when someone wants to be honest like when someone say "I swear on my grave" it is basically the same thing. This slang word is used more on the east coast and not on the west coast. Another slang word is "bad" which is short for babe or baby.

I chose these three ads because they all broke a stereotype. The first one is an ad of a ballerina that is black. Usually ballerina's are white and this woman broke the stereotype. She showed the little girls everywhere that you don't have to be white to be a ballerina. The second one is an ad for chicken. The stereotype here is that you have to fry chicken to taste good. But here the chicken is baked and it still looks and taste delicious just like fried chicken. Some people may say that baked chicken is the best because it is healthier, but fried chicken will always be the best. The taste is far superior and even looks better. The last one is an ad for nutella. It is breaking the stereotype that nutella can't be eaten for breakfast, but in can.

For this question I had to visit a historical monument. I visited the mission inn. The mission inn is probably the nicest hotel in Riverside. It was very nice and fun when I went. I went there and ate near there with my mom at this place that she likes to eat at called simple simon. The inside of the hotel is very elaborate and beautiful. It showed the culture and history of Riverside. The buildings were also beautiful and the plants too. Also what I found very interesting about the mission inn is that many people flock from far and wide to come and visit the mission inn.

Many were surprised that I was Filipino. So I taught them about the people of the Philippines and different things that we do. For example I told them that when you great your elders you are supposed to take there hand and put it against your forehead to show respect. They were surprised at this weird custom in the Philippines. Another thing that I told them is that in Filipino culture it is common to call your family friends auntie and uncle. They thought that this was weird.
