A) Which of the four elements that determine the quality of a website in the eyes of the user has the Smithsonian National Museum of African American History and Culture (NMAAHC) focused on?

A website with:

comprehensive discovery phase

an impressive visual design

an intuitive user experience

a smart mobile implementation

B) What do you think about the content, design, structure and ease of use of the NMAAHC's website? Also look explicitly at the content, the text, the use of images and the interaction with the visitor. Prepare a list of criteria based on the theory beforehand. What points for improvement do you see?

Content: The website provides you visitor with a large amount of information in form of a brochure in multiple languages

Design and Structure: The design is rather simple and features a various amount of somewhat neutral colours with subtle accents. On top of that there are pictures of the museum , and exhibitions.

Ease of use: The simple layout of the website makes it inviting.

Overall impression: The website is quite informative and represents the museum well. It caters to people of all ages.

C) Customer journey map

1. People who want to find out what they can experience in the museum;
2. People who want to buy a ticket for the museum.

1. Home page > Passes > Schedule your visit >

Error > select new date

Purchasing order ends > Impossible to do a conversion

D) Users impose different requirements on apps than on websites. Why do you think people are so enthusiastic about the NMAAHC app?

People were excited about the NMAAHC app because it met their expectations. It clearly embodied the ideas, topics, and even the decoration of the museum. Additional stories for adults and others for children about the topic were added to the app to increase its value. The interactive design to keep the user engaged is effective, and the focus of developers on the ease of use made it convenient for users.

E) What arguments do you think NMAAHC has for creating a mobile responsive website as well as an app? Do you think that is a sensible decision?

I believe it is sensible, because having the app on your phone can always remind you to look at the content of this app, and it makes it more probable to be accessed by the users; unlike websites which you need to remember the name of to type in and navigate before you can access it.

F) Which methods could Forum One use to gain more insights into behavior of the visitors to the site they built for the NMAAHC?

Forum One can use cookies to have more information the interaction of website visitors with the site. They can add a "comments and suggestions" section to receive feedback from website visitors. Other methods which can be used to obtain more knowledge about the behavior and interaction of visitors to the site are: Eye-tracking and Mouse-tracking, Facial scanning, Neurological Examination, Web Analytics, User tests, and Optimization team.

G) What arguments should the NMAAHC impose on the content management system from the perspective of the organization?

They should make it easy for the organization to add documents and information to the website for people who do not have a great knowlegde about technology, so that it does not take a lot time in explaining.

H) What requirements does NMAAHC have to impose regarding safety on the site?

I) Write a short advice to Forum One how they can make the websites more effective through Search Engine Optimization?

It is important to publish relevant content. identity and target a keywords phrase for each page. Think about how your reader might search for the specific page and use these kind of words. It is also important to highlight these key words. Besides this it is important to keep updating the content regularly. another important aspect is to have a link-worthy site. instead of having 'click here' links try writing out the name of the destination. 'click here' has no search engine value, so use a link rich of keywords.
