*Almost all plantation lost their slaves because slavery was not a thing after the war
*They had to do their own labor and had to manage their own house chores and plantation
*Because they thought that their former slaves wouldn't leave their plantation, but did so, they became hostile and resentful to freedmen
*Some freedmen went into sharecropping relationships with former slave owners, which revived the master-slave relationship a bit
