         <description><![CDATA[<div>Humanities - equal time for the ELA and SS content as Math and Science get for their content.<br><br>In general - less administrative tasks throughout the school year.  We only get three planning periods a week.  Quality lesson planning and grading take time.  Right now, I spend my planning periods in parent meetings and completing administrative tasks (data dig, rbes, academic contracts, PBL meeting, curriculum meeting, book study meeting, etc.) which means that I'm lesson planning and grading on the weekends.  Yesterday (11/5), I spent five hours on lesson planning.</div>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>Because Humanities is a new vision I believe that time is essential to plan effective lessons; as a result Humanities teachers should be allowed more time to plan on a monthly basis.<br>&nbsp;I do believe if a curriculum is established the "cry" for time can be diminished.&nbsp;</div>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>I have students need basic phonics lessons. They are not able to keep up with the rigor of the Humanities AKS. A block where ELA is the main focus would be great. I anticipate that this would build up their basic Language Arts skills, giving them more of a chance to succeed in Humanities. </div>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>Students are not able to reach the higher level questions because we only scratch the surface when it comes to ELA and SS . More time is more opportunity to go to deeper understanding with the students more time in the classroom.          <title>Ways to give Humanities more time, may mean: having a Connections class for beginning and developing readers/writers (as determined by County Exam Raw scores and Milestones data) to help them with the skills needed to be successful with reading and writing.</title>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>Another idea, would be to have more class time to teach Humanities. It is hard to cover all AKS effectively and have all students achieving at high levels when there is less time to teach compared to the other classes at CMS.<br><br>Also, while we are still developing and creating Humanities, it may mean that Humanities teachers have a set day each month or nine weeks where they have a day to fully plan and examine. This would require subs.</div>]]></description>

         <title>Protect our class time  so that we are not losing instructional time to photographs, etc. Support for students who cannot keep up with the pace. Perhaps a reading/writing support class. More time for meaningful planning so that we leave with more than a test or ideas. </title>

         <title>Sharing LA AKS would alleviate time (AKS) and a writing special where they could have the time needed to write, edit, revise in class would also alleviate time. We could then practice other AKS in depth and not just surface instruction.</title>
