Last Tuesday I came to Barnsley collage in Honeywell to study Travel and Tourism. I developed my communication skills by meeting my new teachers and friends. What I did well was engage with my my teachers and follow the directions correctly. What I can improve is getting an earlier bus to get to my lessons on time.

On Monday I did enrichment activities like team building and sport sessions and it developed my communication skills to make new friends and being involved in the sport. This made my communication skills stronger. What I did well was being involved in the sports and helped out my friends as well as new friends to enjoy the sports session. What I need to improve by being more confident.

One of the ways that I use teamwork is at work, as we helping each other out with preparing food and solving customer/food problems. This is good multitasking and good communications with my colleagues.

Another way I use teamwork is at college and we all had to problem solve and build a chair out of balloons. We also created a class paper blanket with our names and facts about ourselves and had to use team work to build it together as a class.

Teamwork at college can be a lot of fun. It's great for sharing ideas, creativity and learning from each other. We all work together on assignments and help each other out when we are stuck on a assignment. This gives me a chance to meet new people and make new friends.

I show motivation by showing up to my work 10 minutes earlier so I can be prepared for my shift which shows my ability to work. This makes me feel better as I don't like being late.

I show my motivation by getting an hour earlier bus to college than usual so I can finish off my assignments in my free time before i start my lessons. This motivates me as i always want my assignments completed before the due date in case of any silly mistakes I've done which could be corrected.

I also show my motivation at home by waking up at 8am every day to drop my brother off at his school with my mum and help out with washing and cleaning up including cleaning my room and my kitchen. This motivation puts me in a better mood as I feel much better in a cleaner room.

I am sustainable by saving water and using less water in the bath and not filling it more than i need to. Saving water is very important so i use a dishwasher instead of washing the dishes myself to reduce using lots of amounts of water.

I am also sustainable by saving electricity and not leaving the light on for too long. I also unplug all my charges when i leave the house to save energy.

I love to recycle because I know im saving the planet by sorting out rubbish in the right containers. I use recyclable bags as bin bags as they will go in the waste one day and i reduce the use of plastic bin bags.

I had a pervious part time job at IQNIQ and spice in Goldthorpe which I managed customer orders, managing payments and serving food. The skills I gained from this job is great customer service and managing responsibilities with customers. I helped out with customer orders, preparing, serving food and customer orders. This is good multitasking and great communication with my colleagues. This worked with my college hours as on my days off college I worked and gained new skills. I worked 3 days a week for 6 hours which is 18 hours a week.

I had previous work experience at Virgin money in Rotherham. This experience gave me communication skills and good communication with customer needs. I identified fake and real money which also helped me in future inspection of money. I also learned how to deal with customer needs which can be solved in person. For example a customer came in as they had issues with the banking app and it was solved by phoning Virgin money customer service. This experience showed me that there is always a solution to every problem.

I had pervious work experience in a polish charity called WOSP ( The great orchestra of a Christmas charity) which involved me in collecting funds for children. I did this by being in a group and in return of any donation a sticker was given to show support in the charity. This made me gain great communication skills and learning about peoples stories. The charity was 2 days and gave me happiness and joy for helping out in the charity that happens once a year.

I have social responsibility by placing litter in the correct bins to organise. This is great for the environment and carbon footprint. I also reduce the amount of transport I use for short journeys so I can reduce pollution. I resolve this by walking or riding a bike instead of taking the bus.

I also use social responsibility by avoiding any transport for short journeys to reduce pollution. Using transport is necessary only for long planned journeys and buses should be electric as people use them everyday and this would be great for the environment.

What went well in my interview was I answered all the questions provided without pausing or forgetting what to say. This is a great benefit as this will prepare me for my future job interviews. What went during the interview was I was a little bit nervous as I thought I would forget most of my questions and freeze. What went after the interview was my feedback was given, and I was told to give me answers in more detail as I said where my current job is but didn’t say what store and where it’s located. I have learned from the feedback that I should give more detail about my experience and go more into detail.

This is relevant because it can help me when I apply for cabin crew in the future.

So far I have learnt about the different types of evacuations in the subject cabin crew and specialist tourism in T&T industry. This will support me going into the industry of travel because I will have a travel and tourism diploma which will prove that I have past experience in travel in tourism for my future job role as cabin crew. Learning all these travel related subjects will boost my career in different travel roles.

I have work experience in virgin Money as this was my first work experience in year 11 at school which showed me how to handle and look out for fake money, also how to communicate with customers when they had any issues with the banking app or any bank related problems. I also learned how to give great customer service as everyone that came in had a smile on their faces. This work experience lasted for a month. My second work experience is working at Hollister Meadowhall as a brand representative, I provided excellent customer service and delivered service to customers if they had any issues. Working in retail helped me gain lots of skills and confidence to use towards my future job role.
