<title>There is a strong sense that our current moment represents a portentous and shaky transition between an old world order and a new, as-yet-undefined one. What does the shift in the nature of power mean for governance?</title>

<title>Hmmm it&#39;s interesting that the question is framed as a transition between an old world order and a new world order. Not really sure if there is such a clear distinction between two separate states, or if the &quot;world order&quot; has been constantly changing, and has been constantly in flux. e.g. social media as just another step in the evolution of the flow of information, from the printing press to broadcast media to social media? e.g. shift in US-China world order as just another stage in the evolution of world powers? etc</title>

<title>Not sure it&#39;s an old-world-new-world order shift. Seems more of an oscillation of power base from institutions to individuals. When it gets too much, it&#39;ll swing the other way</title>

<title>What used to work pre-COVID/industrial age may not work (in the same manner) in the future. Maybe instead of government&#39;s power, the power is in the people next time. Education used to be the leveller, but it is also contributing to the inequality between the haves and have-nots. Maybe in the past, people with authority (bosses/teachers) have more power, but in the future, it will probably be the staffers/students who have the power (for change).</title>
