Beetween 1901 and 1904 was Picasso's Blue Period and betwheen 1904 and 1906 was Picasso's Rose Period.
In 1907 Picasso met a French artist and suclptor Georges Braque and Juan Gris, another Spanish artist, who painted Partroit of Pablo Picasso (1912).

It was the start of modern art.
Cubist artist didn't want to paint a copy of real life, they used geometric shpoes to represent people and things.
One example was the painting "Harlquin with a Guitar by Juan Gris" (1917)
