Children wants to explore the worlds by their own languages and dreams. However, adults ( school, culture) put a limit on children and make them to think and act in their available ways.

This is a very similar version of Malaguzzi’s 100 Languages of children. I connect this poem with the arts in a way that, in the standard education, all of the subjects are divided and done in the same way: sitting down, silent and listening to the teacher. The more artistic subjects are done in a similar way. There’s no alternative way. Children’s creativity is taken away. When showing appreciation for other things, teachers shut them down. In time, children begin thinking that showing interest in other things is not as important so they lose a part of themselves.
If art or artistic means were used to teach mixed with the strengths and interests of the children, I believe there would be more freedom in learning and we would be giving more power to the learning process of each child, which would end up empowering children themselves.

The poem, “No way. The Hundred is There” connects to the Arts by using the mode of artistic expression, poetry, to express the theme of the image of a child. The image of the child is shown as competent, capable, with endless potential. The poem has duality, and it creates emotion with the theme as Loris Malaguzzi says, “but they steal ninety-nine.”

I think the arts is like 'The Hundred', specifically in the second stanza. The arts are very subjective and there can be multiple ways of connecting to the arts, expressing yourself through the arts, and I think the whole stanza, from "A hundred always a hundred ways of listening, of marveling, of loving a hundred joys…" all the way down to "a hundred worlds to dream". The fourth stanza also talks about how the child is told to "understand without joy, to love and to marvel only at Easter and at Christmas". Unlike the second stanza, I think this is the exact opposite of what the arts are about, and how the ways the arts can be used (connecting, expressing, etc.) can be suppressed.

After reading this poem, I seemed to understand the author's point of view: children are innocent and imaginative, and they have millions of things that adults can't think of, which some adults don't understand or don't care to understand, so adults sometimes restrict children, but they are preventing the formation of children's creativity. And this poem writes about this situation in a unique form of linguistic beauty, and that is the beauty of the art of poetry! I really like it.

Just like we shouldn’t teach the children what to think. We should just teach them how to think. we shouldn't always teach children what's set. Children's thoughts, feelings, emotions, etc. are really diverse. As teachers, we should always respect children's various ideas. Everybody is special in their own way, through art they can express themselves freely.
