My father having the typical Afghan and desi mindset made a remark "That is not what women do". What are women actually supposed to do : cook, clean and be pretty. These stereotypes come from discordant allocation of both men and women in the roles they play in home and at work. Patrice Banks, a female entrepreneur, had opened a Girls Auto Clinic in Philadelphia. She had opened this shop in response to many auto repair shops taking advantage of women. Patrice had launched her brand to give women a more comfortable experience. She had added her own twist by letting customers get their nails done while they wait. Roughly 2 % of auto mechanics in the United States are women. It apparently makes me "soft" that I raised them and treat them like my babies. This reminds me of the Research Paper by our esteemed Professor and Alexis Forbes where they talked about Sam Bender and Gender schema. Children form a certain schema when living in a traditional culture of certain qualities such as caring and raising is the role of woman in contrast to man. Gender at the end is a product of ones cultures and its norms.
