We were all looking forward to getting to our “new homes”.
Today it’s been my first day at school and it’s been amazing, getting to know such a lot of interesting things going on there... 🤔

I’ve even participated in one special activity which consisted in visiting a day centre where the year 6 pupils would meet some old people and ask them some questions about the World War II. It’s benn amazing to have had the opportunity to hold in my hands one of those ration books used at that time. The children have discovered themselves many interesting facts about the war and so have seen authentic material. The following weeks they will go back to this day centre and they will try to make new friends there. I think both old people and pupils did feel helpful today.

What really struck me was the flexibility of group activities and the number of teaching assistants in the learning spaces.

Nuestro último día nos trajo una sorpresa inesperada y es que a pesar de estar casi todos los colegios cerrados hubo uno que se mantuvo abierto y nos dio la alegría de recibirnos a todos y dejarnos visitar sus clases libremente.
Radford Academy nos permitió relacionarnos con sus profesores ,conocer sus instalaciones e interactuar con los niños.

I've been with Year 1 doing Spanish. I told them a story "¿De quién son estas orejas?" (Thanks Maria Jose, Sara loved the book!😉) and they were so enthusiastic and happy. We review animals and colours. I also did my presentation about Zamora-Toro in the Assembly and I showed the video of my Year 3 in Spain introducing themselves. In the afternoon I've told a story in Spanish to Reception to practice colours and numbers.
Next I went to year 4 to show pupils my school.

Hoy he estado en Year 2.
Ha sido genial ver como trabajan la contrucción de frases usando cartulinas de colores plastificadas.
También he disfrutado viendo (y participando) en la clase de mate. Viendo como, con tan solo 6 años, son capaces de sumar, restar, multiplicar, dividir, hacer fracciones....

Después de comer he estado con Martina, una profe de Polonia que les enseña español.
Me ha dejado enseñar un powerpoint de Zamora y el cole y otro de Salamanca :).
Así que ya saben donde estamos.

Al acabar la jornada, Martina me ha dicho que vamos a preparar un eTwinning juntas, y que quiere volver a España en algún intercambio.

De nuevo descubriendo cosas nuevas con la forma que tienen de enseñar matematicas :) siempre practicando y tocando muuchisimo material.
Por la tarde de nuevo he podido acompañar a Martina (spanish) a year 4 y year 5 y le he podido enseñar el cole y la ciudad.

I am really happy about having stayed with Sara Simon as she is the Spanish teacher in both schools.
