         <description><![CDATA[<div>(March 22, 1765)<br>The Stamp Act was a taxation bill passed in which colonists would have to put/have stamps put on goods such as: paper, playing cards, etc.<br>Though the tax only really affected the wealthy, the fact that Britain imposed a tax on them without their consent/representation made the colonists upset.</div>]]></description>

The areas were required to shelter the soldiers at local inns, livery stables, ale houses, victualing houses, and the homes of wine vendors if the barracks were too small to accommodate all of the soldiers.</div>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>(September 5 - Oct 26, 1774)<br>The First Continental Congress was established to discuss the oppressive acts of Britain and how they would attempt to resolve them. Initially, the colonies fought over whether they would resolve things peacefully (makeup with Britain) or separate fully. All colonies were represented in the Congress, except for Georgia, which was in the midst of a war with local indigenous tribes and relied upon British assistance.</div>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>(April 19, 1775)<br>The battle of Lexington + Concord was where this "shot heard around the world" began. The previous phrase means that it was the spark that started the American Revolution, or the biggest one, as more physical altercations and battles took place after this event. What started as an initial raid on the colonists grew into a physical dispute which ended in the defeat of the British soldiers in Concord which boosted morale and support for the American Revolution.</div>]]></description>

Though the losers in the conflict, the American soldiers showed that they could stand their ground which gave the colonies a little hope in the war.</div>]]></description>
