It is better to ask who needs more time or who is not ready to move on rather than ask the students who have an easier time responding.

The idea of including personal examples makes the mentoring/teaching experience feel more human and a little less process-based, which can help a student be more comfortable with asking for help or trying to critically think about problems they are confused about.

"Talk to each other, not to me"- As someone who is uncomfortable with stalled out communication and (sometimes) silence, this feels like a good thing to remember.
