The clothing and dress varies by each African region, country, and further by local tribes and villages. Men and women also vary in the clothing they are allowed to wear depending upon the geography of where they live and the climate typical to their area. While many Africans wear clothing typical to modern Western culture such as t-shirts and shorts, traditional dress is not forgotten or lessened by this. Many West Africans hem and embroider their clothing which can be made from country cloth, a traditionally hand-spun, hand-dyed and hand-woven textile. These items are vibrant in colors with wonderful designs.

Come to this market style shopping center to purchase traditional West African style dress. For women, you can find things like the lappa: a long skirt tied at the waist, to match with a buppa: a loose-fitting blouse. Don't forget your matching headscarf! The pagne: a wraparound skirt, is similar and can also be found here as well as long colorful dresses. If you plan to make your own, stick around later in the evening to speak to the natives who make this clothing and can provide a short tutorial for an additional small cost. Men can find dress styles such as the via: a round-necked shirt that is paired with either short or long pants. boubous (full length tunics).
Headscarves, tunics, cotton robes, turbans and more can be purchased here as well. Bring a little culture back to your town and impress everyone with your new found knowledge of appropriate dress and styles in the Western African region.

While the majority of Western Africa is desert, this doesn't stop an abundance of animal life from populating and thriving in this area. From the West African giraffe (white giraffe), Senegal gerbil and fennec foxes, to the jerboas and pygmy hippos, there is certainly many animals being supported on the vastly different ecosystems of Savannah and rain forest. It is a concern for many wildlife preservationists, as well as scientists, the lack of water and rainfall in these areas, and many of the animals are beginning to decrease in population, especially the West African giraffe.

Laugh along and visit with Pumbaa and Timon from The Lion King, in this train ride adventure around the park zoo. See an assortment of animals from the small fennec foxes, to the much larger African Forest Elephant. At each stop, you will be able to ask questions about the animals as well as have a chance to answer trivia questions for a prize! Make sure to pay attention to your DVD player screens in front of you to both map your location and find out key information about the animals as well as current wildlife issues from Timon and Pumbaa too. Select merchandise will only be available for those who join along, so don't opt out and miss your chance. The animals await!
