There are several examples of how the Internet of Things (IoT) can help to enhance the customers. One of it is that IoT can help the communication between the seller and customers become more efficiently. By efficiently, it means that customers can understand more about their desire and needs, make personalized offers that quell frustration and reward royalty. Plus, customers can be notified when a package will be arrived by using the method of IoT.

 

Next, never cross the boundaries of a privacy. Seller needs to be mindful of the perceptions and preference of a customer. Sending of communication with a customer through an app is mostly affective and appropriate especially when it involves the opportunity of up-sell.

It is about smart air conditioning which is super awesome! Through this, you can control the temperature of the room easily through your phone. This is also applicable when you have gone out from home and forgotten to turn it off. I believe if retailers start marketing these services, it would be a sure hit to the customers.

The first example on how to enhance a customer’s experience using IoT is by exercising clean designing. In details, a coffee machine that provides an interactive menu with quick recipe for different types of coffee will be function much better. Next, by introducing smart automation. For a product, it is not only on how it looks and feel but also regarding on how it is functioned. By using IoT, it can enable device to be equipped with a number of sensors. It can easily capture a data of a certain product like temperature, faces, air moisture, weather and motion etc.

Aside from that, there is also personalize the interface. The smart interface designing in IoT can able the users to personalized according to their preferences. For instant, the Pop Home Switch by Logitech. The users can quickly customize the switch in order to take control of the smart devices of the house. Another example is, thinking beyond screens. A customer experience for IoT thinks beyond the usual interfaces that are based around screens. One of the ways to do this is to leverage the capabilities of sound, gesture and intuitive movements instead of simply designing a screen-based user interface.

Next example, having a broad perspective. Understanding how the appliance with the eco system is very important. The IoT device should be able to easily integrate with the existing ecosystem, not end up creating one on its own. The last example is design for engagement.
