HELLO EVERYONEEEEE !! It was really nice to see my classmates again and of course my Dr. Wan :) So for our first class we have been brief about what will happen throughout second semester. Dr also brief us about Virtual Microbes . This semester is a little bit different because we will do our VM with Lafayette student . Im very excited but also afraid but this is what we called as challenge. We also have start with our first topic . We will deeper about bacteria . As for our first microbe lab, we already did our first experiment for this semester. its all about biochemical test which we can define the biochemical activities of microorganisms. There are 3 experiments which are extracellular enzymatic activities of microorganisms, carbohydrate fermentation and triple sugar-iron agar test Below is the experiment for carbohydrate fermentation. This experiment allows you to know which microbes will ferment carbohydrate and produce acid or gas.

HELLO PEOPLE ! So for this week class we have learn more about our first topic. There are so many things that I have forgot for our semester 1 topic which is kinda stressful for me. I think that why my mother say we should learn because of Allah and not only for exam. So I think I should set my mind again. For our second lab, we have studied about IMViC test which can differentiate the principal groups of Enterobacteriaceae based on their biochemical properties and enzymatic reaction. Second experiment is called Hydogen sulfide test and next is urease test which determine whether the organisms was capable of hydrolyzing the substrate area or not.

So, for this week Dr. Wan have given us a task. This task is called, What microbe am I ? I might be wrong but I think that was close enough. HAHA . So my team have to do phyla crenarchaeota. This thing is very interesting guysss seriously. There are so many new things that we have found about this archaea . Thanks to Dr.Wan we can explore this microbe. I think I should really put myself in such curiousity to explore about other microbes. For our microbiology lab, we have done 5 experiment this week which is Litmus Milk Reaction, Nitrate Reduction Test, Catalase test, Oxidase test and Utilization of Amino Acid

So for this week we have move on to our next topic which is fungi and we have discussed our trip to Yakult and INTI University. Cant wait ! Talking about fungi I have remember one thing. Fungi is different from others because they are saprophytes which means they gain nutrients from dead organisms. It could be parasitism. As for our microbiology lab, we have done genus identification of unknown microbes. We have done gram staining and all of the biochemical tests all alone which kinda stressful but now i feel that wow, im a microbiologist . LOL

WEEK 5

Finally this week have come !! I am so excited for our trip because it have been a long time time since i had a trip with friends well you know like school trips. So, on tuesday we have went to Yakult. I love it so much because I can see how they were made, what is shirota strain and I can see all the machines and it is so fascinating when you can deal with the good bacteria everyday without contamination. As for our trip to INTI College, we have been briefed about antibiotic resistance. I love Dr. Maha because of his profession and his face of course. He said that bacteria are smarter than us which i thought that was so cooollllll... Now, I have different perspective about bacteria. They just like kecil kecil cili padi. You have to be careful with them because there are more things about them that we havent discover yet. This week lab was about Free-Living Protozoa which is COOL ! I can see protozoa in pond water. There soo many of them some of them are moving some have flagella some look like slippers that you wore to masjid and went missing ( boys problems).

WEEK 6

So this week we had our protists done !!!! oh yeahh . Protist is one of my favourite topic because it is quite simple and interesting ;). This week we also done our revision with Dr.Wan. We revised everything that we have learnt before. Well I dont know why but this semester I am soooooooo lazyyyyyyy and I dont even know what am I doing everyday. I always slept during break and even during classes I was soooo sleeepy like seriously soo sleepy that you feel like your eyes were sooooo heavyyy and oh maybe there is Shaytan was hanging there . This week for microbiology lab, we have done our Fungi experiment. we have learnt about the cultivation and morphology of molds and also about yeast. Actually I dont really like fungi because of its gross feature. But i already used to it so im okay now. Oh yeah just kind of scared with the Candida because Kak Pah says it is quite dangerous to us women because we have this things that men do not have which is Mrs. V.

Okay for this week we learnt about Principles of Ecology which is short and good and just nice. We have learnt about What is Ecology ? What homeostasis actually means ? How to balance the ecosystem ? What is the roles of microbes in the ecosystem ? and all.. and thankfully we finished this topic within this week. You can watch this guys ! interesting

WEEK 8

This week was a new refreshing start to us because Dr Irwan had teach us Aspects of Biotechnology. Dr Irwan is a good lecturer and we can see he had so much effort to make us understand better in microbiology. I like the way he teach with all the metaphore and funny examples. The problem was me. This week I always sleep late because I watched movies until 2 or 3 am. I am so sorry Dr, but I cant helped it :(. I will try sleep early . Pinky promise ! Oh yeah, actually this week we were given task to present about any company or project regarding this aspects of biotechnology. For our group, we have choose Johnson & Johnson as our subject for presentation. As I have learnt about this company, I fell in love with the founders who are Robert Wood Johnson and brother. Robert not only just businessman but also he is a very good father.

WEEK 9

For this week we have watched Temple Grandin !! such an inspiring movie to all of us. Knowing this movie based on true story really make me felt so small and ashamed. This is because although shes an autistic student but she never know the word give up and fail. She does not even care what people say . I need that attitude . Do anything ! Dont care what people say ! They are jealous of your ability . Okay stop it I talked like school president. One quote that caught my attention is

"DIFFERENT BUT NOT LESS"

By the way, this is the real Temple Grandin :) She is beautiful right ?

We move on to Application in Industries. We have learnt many new things about industries that applied microbes and as usual after we have studied the whole chapter Dr Irwan will asked us to recall everything and this is one of the method that I like. Dr Irwan also asked us to make 10 questions to asked about this topic. Then we will compare with the groups and then other groups and compile it together. On Thursday we have move to Microbial Genetics which one of my favourites topics. This time, Dr Irwan showed us some videos that showed the flow of every part of this microbial genetics

WEEK 11

This week we had test 2 !! Actually im quite worried because of the new format but this make me want to do better ! Alhamdulillah everything went well :) But actuallyn there are some questions that im not quite clear and guess what ? Dr Irwan discussed the answer the same week which is one Thursday. I was so scared so I closed my ears but still I can hear so finally I heard itand Im not that bad hahahhaaha i guess laa..

WEEK 12

This week was so much fun !! We have played games and we can see the differences between this semester and last semester. Maybe because we have learned from mistakes. This semester we have many new games. And I love my teammates !! We were so excited and yeah we lost !

HAHAHAHAHAHA

But its okay guys , we play to learn.

This is the last class with Dr Irwan :<(
Im quite sad la because as I said before HE IS QUITE COOL ! so okay, this week we learnt about Epidemiology . Interesting !! This is quite new i havent heard of this word before but not Im already understand. And before that, just want to say
