         <description><![CDATA[<div>Kwame Alexander said he first writing poems at age 12 where he wrote a poem for his mother for mother's day. From that point on he decided he wanted to be a poet, and when he was in college, he wrote a poem for a girl he like who later became his wife! He attended college at Virginia Tech.</div>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>Kwame Alexander has published 28 books, but he says he has written too many books to count. Some awards he received are the 2015 John Newbery Medal, the NCTE Charlotte Huck Honor, the Paterson Poetry Prize, the Lee Bennett Hopkins Poetry Award, and the Coretta Scott King Author Award Honor, to name a few. He is also a New York Times best selling author. His hit "THE CROSSOVER" has a prequel called "REBOUND" where it describes the earlier childhood of Jordan and Josh Bell's father Chuck.</div>]]></description>
