Lesson Objective: To increase the students understanding of the Civil War by creating a color coded map.

Materials needed: A map of the United States at the time of the Civil War and crayons.

1. Students will research on Wikipedia which states were part of the Union and which were with the Confederacy.
2. Students will color Union states blue.
3. Students will color states that fought for the confederacy red.
4.
