This book is about a native american boy who has to move to Washington D.C because his mom gets a job there. So this means that jake will have to move off of the reservation. He has to go to a fancy prep school. His team members only care about winning, but Jake does not like that because his people were the creators of the game of lacrosse. He does not think about lacrosse as winning but as the medicine game. But when something tragic happens to his coach... he gets shot and passes away. The game is known as the medicine game Jake organizes a whole school game to honor the coach.
