Psyche was a beautiful girl. In fact, she was gorgeous. She had 2 other sisters who were jealous of her beauty. She had lots of people who loved her enough to think she was the reborn goddess, Venus. People stopped worshiping Venus and started worshiping her. The people built a giant statue of her in the town square. She should have been happy but she was not. Even with her beauty, the men were afraid to ask for her hand. The goddess Venus looked down from Olympus and expected to see thousands of people at her temple worshiping her. When she looked down she was shocked by what she sees. the temple was caked with dust and no one was there.  Venus was very angry! She called in her son Cupid. "Go and strike that girl with your arrows. Make her fall in love with the most disgusting thing you can think off! Make her regret her beauty!" Venus yelled. So Cupid went down into the mortal world to found her. Little did she know Psyche already regretted her beauty.  Meanwhile, Psyche's parents went to the oracle. "She shall marry a monster even the gods fear. Bring her to the cliff where she will be taken." said the Oracle. So the parents returned and told her about what the oracle said. They brought her to the cliff and went back to the bottom. She waited and waited. finally, she decided to jump! As she jumped a wind picked her up and carried her to another land. When she landed she could see a huge castle! " We are here to serve you mistress." said an invisible voice. "who are you?" Psyche asked. "We are your servants. You shall meet your husband soon.`` The voice said.
