One of the most innovative higher education institutions in the world, UM ranks very high in many <a href="https://www.umontpellier.fr/en/articles/international-rankings">international rankings</a> : first in the world in the 2018 Shanghai ranking for Ecology, first most innovative French university in 2018 Reuter’s ranking, 5th in France in 2018 Leiden’s ranking for the quality of its scientific publications, 3rd French university in the 2019 “University Impact ranking” of Times Higher Education.<br><br></div><div>These increasingly outstanding results reflect the dynamism triggered by the Montpellier University of Excellence I-SITE project since the prestigious certification was obtained in March 2017.<br><br></div>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>The “<a href="https://muse.edu.umontpellier.fr/en/">Montpellier University of Excellence</a>” project gathers the forces of 19 institutions towards a common ambition: create in Montpellier a thematic research-intensive university that will be internationally recognized for its impact in the fields of agriculture, environment and health. For all its consortium members, this university strives to act as the academic partner they can establish strong ties with, and on which they can fully rely.<br><br></div><h1>Three major societal challenges</h1><div>With significant scientific concentration in the Montpellier area in the fields of Agriculture, Environment and Health, MUSE brings together a scientific, institutional and economic community to address three major intertwined challenges that are consistent with the U.N. 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development and the Paris Agreement on climate change: Feed – Protect – Care. These three challenges encompass all disciplines:<br><br></div><ul><li><strong>FEED</strong> : promoting innovative agriculture to contribute to food security and environmental quality</li><li><strong>PROTECT</strong> : fostering a transition towars an environment-friendly society</li><li><strong>CARE</strong> : improving human in changin environments</li></ul><div><strong>Governance, education, research, innovation, international policy and student life: the entire MUSE academic and scientific community is mobilizing in all academic fields to build the university of tomorrow:<br></strong><br></div><ul><li>An international strategy based on opening up towards Southern countries and developing strong ties with leading universities in the fields of “MUSE” clusters;</li><li>Major efforts to increase internationalization of curricula, to foster innovative education and to create a real sense of belonging for students;</li><li><strong>Promote an “Open-University model” by opening the university to business for a greater impact on society.</strong></li></ul>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>The University of Montpellier  and the Department of International Affairs contribute significantly to the Erasmus + program and to the creation of a European higher education environment by pursuing several objectives including:<br><br></div><div>·   Improving the quality and strengthening the European dimension of higher education</div><div>·   Increasing the mobility of students, teachers and university staff</div><div>·   Supporting of multilateral cooperation</div><div>·   Promoting the internationalization of European higher education institutions<br><br></div><div><strong>The Project Management Unit:</strong><br><br></div><div>·   Manages more than 15 E+ projects carried out each year, half of which as coordinator</div><div>·   A team of 10 people with varied and complementary backgrounds and skills</div><div>·   8 to 10 million in grants obtained each year to finance projects</div><div>·   Cooperates with a network of nearly 300 partners<br><br></div><div>Types of projects carried out:<br><br></div><div>·   Capacity building: promoting the modernization, accessibility and internationalization of higher education in institutions outside Europe </div><div>·   Strategic partnerships: transnational projects aiming at pooling innovative practices and promoting cooperation in order to foster the exchange of experiences and good practices among institutions.</div><div>·   European Universities Initiative</div><div>·   MIC (International Credit Mobility program)<br><br></div>]]></description>
