In Brave New World, individuals are conditioned to like and dislike specific things. For ex: Babies were taught to hate flowers hence they don’t like nature but they do like to play the sports and in order to play these sports they must travel to different location. To travel to these locations they must use transportation. Those utilizing this transportation help the economy but what’s unfortunate is that they have no choice of their own activities. Everyone likes the same enjoyment purposes which causes them to lose individuality. 

“Murder kills only the individual and, after all what is an individual?...We can make a new one with the greatest ease – as many as we like” (133). 

Basically, it does not affect the society if any individual dies because they can make new ones so easily. Mr.Foster makes it evident that he treats life like a product. Essentially, it is easy to make a new product just like they make individuals in test tubes. Also, when an individual dies, no one mourns over their death. This analogy shows how people in Brave New World are basically referred to as inhuman creatures.

“One egg, one embryo, one adult-normality. But a bokanvskified eg will bud, will proliferate, will divide. From eight to ninety-six buds, and every bud will grow into a 

perfectly formed embryo, and every embryo into a full-sized adult” (Huxley 6). 

 

The Bokanovsky’s process allows a society to manufacture humans quickly and efficiently. However, it impairs epsilons from thinking and their height, making them perceived as the lower class. 

                                                                                     

Ø  Well science is essential for the growth of society, it is important to note that science is dangerous and must be kept under control or else a society can crumble. 

 

Mustapha Mond states “ Science is dangerous; we have to keep it most carefully chained and muzzled” (Huxley 225)

In this quote Mustapha Mond is talking to John the Savage and he is telling him that if science is not valuable, if it diminishes control and happiness. Mond specifically uses the word “muzzled”, to stress the idea of why humans should prevent science from further development. 

 

What is most interesting about how Huxley portrays technological advancements is that while technology has been allowed to grow and flourish, actual scientific advancement has been stunted. Whereas the State talks about progress and science, what it really means is the bettering of technology, not increased scientific exploration and experimentation. The state uses science as a means to build technology that can create a flawless, contented, superficial world through things such as the "feelies." The state censors and limits science, just as it does with all higher learning, since the fundamental basis behind science is the seek out truth, which threatens the State's control.
