Italy was on the Mediterranean Sea, allowing for rich port cities, helping Italy's wealth, and easier trading. Being on the water, people could easily put heavy and large loads on boats and sail to locations instead, for more trading capacity. Italy had easy time trading because of it's location and climate. Italy was near middle-eastern trading routes, near to Asia and Africa, and close to the rest of Europe as well. This helps for trading because it doesn't take long to get anywhere. The mild climate of Italy allowed a strong basis to trade from. It not only allowed trade routes to be good year-round, but also allowed Italy to grow olives and grapes from the long growing season. Olives could be turned to olive oil, and grapes to wine, both great for trading. This easy trade also allowed for more ideas to be spread more easily, and for innovations to spread more easily, innovations that could help advance Europe and Italy.

Italy had a strong economy, allowing for merchant and banking families to become extremely wealthy. The economy was built so strong because of the new banking system, where people were exchanging foreign currencies and giving loans with high interest. These wealthy families valued beauty and how good their city states were, competing with others. This meant merchant families were always supporting artists, thinkers, and innovators. They helped them advance in their fields. All this leads to more ideas being spread, huge advances in art and masterpieces being created. Innovators were encourage to make even better innovations, and keep working, resulting in more innovations to help advance the country. These patrons also encouraged people to educate themselves, allowing more potential to be used, and meaning that the majority of the population could be educated. The strong economy allowed for more people to focus in their fields and do other things than focusing on the economy.

Leadership changed, and wealthy families gained political power. This was important as it not only helped open the social system, allowing people from lower classes to get higher in the social class ladder, but also allowed people that cared about their city states in power. City states grew better and better as these people valued beauty, and helped their area become better and better.

The social system was heavily affected, and helped allow a thinking revolution. A strong middle class developed, making the more people in a better postition. The social system also went from a closed to an open system, which was huge. People born into lower positions had the oppurtunities to be in political power, if they worked hard enough. People were no longer judged by wealthy, but more by the work they put in. Hard work was valued by the people as well. This allowed for more oppurtunites for everyone, and less potential was lost because people in lower classes had the chance to show off their talent. This is good for everyone, as more people have chances to become the best version of themselves.

The culture shifted, and humanism had a role in the change in culture. Humanism encourages people to be the best version of themself, and also questions a lot of things, including the church. This eventually led to religion being less important, as talked about later. The culture shifting had a big impact, not only becoming very accepting of new ideas and things, but also a shift in what it meant to be whole, as less focus was put on religion, and religion had less of an impact on people's lives. This is good as it allows advances in sciences and medicine. Before, science and medical related things were generally accepted as part of God's plan, and no one researched diseases and such, which was changed now. Time on Earth and accomplishments on Earth was valued, in addition to the afterlife, encouraging more people to live life to the fullest. People were also more willing to spend money on artists, allowing for masterpieces and huge steps in art to be made.

Huge advances were made in math and science. New mathematic formulas were created, helping architexture by helping plan buildings and helping make architexture stronger than before. Astronomy was also advanced because of math, helping the people learn where Earth was in the Solar System. It also allowed for more precise maps to be created, helping trade and helping make better trade routes. Scholars began to come to Italy to study, then return to their countries, making universities and teaching at them. They would take the knowledge other places had learned and helped spread them.

New innovations were created, greatly advancing Italy and Europe. Galileo created the Geometric/Military Compass. This helped sailors know which angle to shoot their cannons at, making it easier to defend attacks and sink enemy ships. Ship makers could use this to make stronger hulls for their ships, allowing longer lasting ships that could presumably go faster and carry a heavier load, making trade easier. It helped the economy in a different way, allowing for bankers to exchange foreign currencies easier, leading to bankers being able to make money easier, thus helping the economy. An amazing innovation that greatly advanced learning and the spread of education was the printing press. It allowed for education to be accesible for more people, by lowering the cost. It made copying books more efficient, as previously monks would have to handwrite every page, a process that could take 4-5 months. Another thing the printing press helped with is making books readable in many different vernacular languages, as now books could be copied in different languages without as much effort. With all the things the printing press improved, it in total led to more people being able to access education, thus helping the population become smarter and different people from different locations could access someone else's notes and learnings.
