You can respond to the questions I ask by replying as a comment or start your own post to begin a new thread of the conversation.

So, during the video a lot of stuff changes. The knick knacks in the background move and switch out. One of the speakers changes his shirt. And so on. Did you notice? If so, did it change the way you watched this video? If you didn't, go back and look for it. Skip around in the video. Are you surprised you missed it? What are your thoughts on this?

Is limited perception good?

One of the points they made is that limited perception is actually a tool that helps focus our attention. Meaning that we are able to pay attention to the things we're supposed to be paying attention to because we aren't distracted by the things we see around us in great detail. Do you think this is a good thing? If you could expand your perception to notice more details would you want to?

Given the videos explanation about how limited and flawed our perception is, how much do you trust your own perception? How much SHOULD you trust it? Would you trust your perception if, for example, you witnessed a crime and were describing the suspect to a sketch artist?

Metaphysics is the concept of reality: its nature and its concept of reality. Amazon has just launched a new show which has an interesting metaphysical viewpoint. Watch this short trailer for Upload, then think about the metaphysical viewpoint being promoted. Do you think it's valid? Does it mesh with your own viewpoint?
