The story is about a mouse dentist named Doctor De Soto and a hungry fox with a tooth ache. The fox's plan was to get his tooth fixed by the mouse and eat him. However, his plan backfired and the secret formula that Doctor De Soto put on his teeth made the fox's mouse seal shut for 2 whole days, not allowing him to eat anyone or anything. this story can be used in a class to teach the message of karma or to teach younger kids to always be nice to each other and treat other with respect.
Steig, W. 1982. Doctor De Soto. Farrar, Straus and Giroux.

Little Red Riding Hood was bringing food to her sick old grandmother in the woods when she came across a wolf. The wolf asked her where she was going and she told the wolf. As she waled away the wolf went and ate her grandmother and tricked Little Red when she got there. An old hunter came across the cabin and found the wolf and save the grandmother and Little Red. The message that can be taught from this story is to never trust a stranger. Kids are vulnerable and need to be taught to not talk to people they do not know.
Hyman, T. 1967. Little Red Riding Hood. Holiday House.

A Child's Calendar follows a family going through a year. The story shows holidays and how they are important for a family. For example, June, July, and August all talk about the basic things that happen in the summer. Also, the month of December discusses snow, fun, and the toy packed shelves. This story can show kids what holidays fall in each month and what season the months fall in. The months are one of the first and most important things a young kid learns and this is a fun way to teach and interact with a young class.
Updike, J.1965 .A Child's Calendar. Holiday House.

Olivia is a story about a little piglet that is full of energy. The family and Olivia go to many places where they live to wear her out and drain her energy. But she does not stop and enjoys every bit of it. When they come home, she still has too mush energy after the day so her mother sends her to bed. The mother is tired from keeping her occupied all day, however, she still reads Olivia her bedtime stories and everything is fine. The book can be good to teach little kids because it can teach the kids not to do things that Olivia does like paint the wall. It can also teach kids to listen to their parents and to be good kids.
Falconer, I. 2008. Olivia. Atheneum Books for Young Readers.

The story of No David follow a kid who breaks all of his mothers household rules. Her rules are basic for any mother to have, do not run and jump in the house, be respectful and close your mouth when you chew. The story shows David breaking many things through the house. In the story he breaks his mothers vase and on the cover he is knocking over a fish bowl. The story can be an important story to read to your kids because it can teach them what id right and what is not. They should be able to know not to break things but some kids learn better with visuals and this book shows illustrations of David's wrong doings.
Shannon, D. 1998. No David!.

This book shows classics and newer American rhymes and jingles. throughout the book, a young child will be interested to listen to the teacher read because the word choice and repetition will keep him interested. Rhythm is a common tactic used in children's books and it has been for many decades. The rhythm of the book will allow the kids mind to work in a way it isn't used to by hearing the different combination of words.
Petersham, M and M. 1945. The Rooster Grows. Macmillan Publishing Company.
