Blodeuwedd is a mythical creature originating from Wales, she is known for being the wife of Lleu Llaw Gyffes. She was a woman made of eight types of flowers, created for Lleu and when she betrayed him for another man, he cursed her and transformed her into an owl.

• How are you planning to visualize the creature, their home and their culture? Think color, texture, pattern, detail etc...

Since she originates from Wales, I wanted to incorporate some Celtic patterns and merge that concept with plants as her human form was created from plants, so I thought why not make her "monster" form resemble plants as well. I want her to look as she could blend in with the forest, with the sessile oak, English holly and the Wych elm. Her body would have a bark-like texture to show that she is made like a tree. This character as she is made to both resemble trees, her foliage must also change with the seasons to allow her to blend in with her surroundings as well as allude to her origins.

• What is their physicality?

Her physicality is somewhat bulky and strong whereas her lower half resembles the femur of a human, to show that she still is human in some part. She doesn't have wings like an owl, this was a deliberate choice as part of her curse was to turn into an owl, however, I decided that the lack of wings would allude to the fact that she isn't free like a bird and roams this earth like a human does. She is strong in her upper half but often is found somewhat hunched as in deep thought.

• What is their personality?

Her personality is very cautious, as during her transformation she lost all memories of who she was, so she is often in deep thought about her origins and why there is no other creature like her. The animals in the forest are somewhat wary of her leading to a depressed and hopeless mood, however, she has no hatred or distaste towards them. She is fascinated by human culture and often spies from a distance to see what they are doing and to learn their culture. She is also a forager, items that have been lost or misplaced are often picked up by Tylluan and she hoards them in the trunks of trees nearby.

Reflective feedback on my end, I think I want to redraw my visiting character and add in some more cultural aspects in the design! I will also need to figure out a way in which to incorporate this into my original character designs.

Maybe change my line style to a style with more line variation because my sketches show a lot of line variation however powderpuff girls doesn't really have line variation and may be difficult to incorporate into my style.

Could add webbing between fingers to add to the sea serpent vibes.

For clothing should stick to things that don't cover her silhouette too much otherwise it may be hard to tell that she has fins, tail, etc. essentially making it hard to tell what creature she is.

Liked hair sketch number 3 because it looks like the hair is wet which suits my characters creature (sea serpent).

I have changed the ears so they are downturned - I feel this works better than modifying the hat for upright ears.

This is my current and final design.

inspired by aboriginal artwork which uses lots of dots similar to pointilism, but with more abstract shapes. the wave shapes at the bottom represent the sea, with the three large circles + everything above representing the horizon and the sky.

• My character needs more movement, have wind blow to character.

• Visiting character needs to change pose to look mad.

• Change the wings and tufts of hair to clumpy pieces.
