LIMA has now grown into a maritime exhibition and is also one of the largest maritime and air exhibitions in Asia Pacific. Nowadays, a four-hour flying display is held every day throughout the show. In addition to the aircraft at the air show there were also several helicopters on display at the maritime exhibition. Every day there is also a demonstration that takes place at the port showing the skills of the APMM, the Malaysian Police or the Malaysian Navy.

As LIMA approaches its third decade, it aims to distance itself from the traditional "defense only" focus with a "Commercial Liaison Defense & Intelligence" theme. The Malaysian Ministry of Defense (MINDEF) and the Ministry of Transport (MOT) have supported this effort by the Ministry of International Trade and Industry (MITI), through the National Aerospace Industry Coordinating Office (NAICO), Malaysian Foreign Trade Development Corporation (MATRADE). ) and the Malaysian Investment Development Authority (MIDA), with a defense-commercial participation ratio of 60:40 this year.

Langkawi's skies and seas once again roared with the roar of jet engines as it hosted the 15th edition of the Langkawi International Maritime and Aerospace Exhibition (LIMA) from 26-30 March 2019.
