The social pressure that encouraged/forced me to get this gift for my dad was social media especially Instagram. I had a limited budget, so as I looked into the finest gift alternatives for a limited budget, I discovered several inexpensive perfume options.this incident happened in India because I came to the Unites States2 years ago. There is a huge difference in the currency of US and India (1 USD= 70 INR). The manifest functions are that jeans are casually worn pants and a forever fashion statement. Latent functions include: jeans helping people to feel physically attractive who did not like their physique at one point in their lives; jeans were made under life-threatening conditions by laborers for large corporations to gain money.

Psychologists focus on individuals whereas sociologists investigate groups of people. In Chapter 1, Berger introduces the reader to what sociologists do and how they are interested in individuals' lives. Berger also initiated some broad queries about how individuals interact with one another in society and how these connections shape institutions. He emphasizes that there are many various occupations in this world, including those for geologists and linguists, but they only demand a certain amount of consideration, but a sociologist is constantly at work since theirs is a subconscious job.

Sociological imagination links the particular historical events that have affected society historically and currently. Being aware of your surroundings and of those who do not want your best interests is an advantageous trait in today's environment, but the more alert you get, the more confined you tend to feel. One has to understand the history of the contemporary world to deal with the negative conditions it presents. Understanding history helps one to develop in the contemporary environment. History is full of events that have taught us to avoid making the same mistakes again. Miller continues by describing how sociological imagination assists people in understanding themselves and others via historical experiences. My takeaway from this chapter is that we must control our thoughts and emotions to grasp the conscious perspective of a stranger in some situation before we can conquer the world.

Food helps us comprehend how feminist perspectives have a significant effect on the development of social variables. Several types of meat represent diverse dietary patterns in different cultures. I was born and raised in India. My entire family is vegetarian, and I was raised that way as well. As a vegetarian, I believe it is wrong to kill an animal and take its life away to fulfill our appetite when there are so many plant-based foods accessible all over the world.

My grandma has been making halwa at every festival in India since my childhood. It holds a spiritual meaning as it portrays a sweet wish to please God and bless the other food. According to the Marxist perspective, people like it while eating it but do not pay attention to the components or how it is manufactured.  For example, the main ingredients of halwa are sooji (semolina) and milk. The semolina is obtained from durum wheat, which is then purified on farms before being shipped to packaging companies where employees work in severe conditions. Further, it makes its way to stores, where it is purchased and later cooked. The method to obtain milk is similar, but the fundamental distinction is that milk is animal-based, whereas semolina is plant-based.

In this culture, whether rich or poor, everyone has a shrine in their home. These shrines are not very large, instead, they are established in little boxes or chests buried in the walls of local homes. I've observed many other cultures where women carry out rituals, yet the majority of nacirema's rituals are performed by males. Women, on the other hand, are allowed to execute a few rites, but they must first bake their heads in the oven for an hour. How can you possibly survive after baking your head in the oven for over an hour? Donations are greatly commendable at churches, but priests do not charge anyone for reconciliation or penance. Unlike Catholicism, nacirema do not reconcile or purify individuals until they make extravagant offerings to the custodian. The strangest habit I've discovered in this society is that people are required to remove all of their clothing before entering the temple.

India is the world's second-largest populated country, with a population of 1.4 billion people whereas the United States has a population of roughly 340 million. According to the experts, 40% of India's population (440 million people) is vegetarian, which is greater than America's entire population. During my journey to the United States, I had a lot of ideas about how lovely and intriguing this country would be, but it hurt my emotions to see how much meat Americans consume. Even I had no idea what a hamburger was since cows are considered sacred in my religion. Even though I've been here for two years, seeing someone eating  beef still hurts because I have a strong  emotional connection to the cows I had in India.

Mr. Harry's silent activity may differ from this concept, but it reflects how individuals in society dislike people doing nothing, remaining silent, and not answering questions.  Although it may be unpleasant for some, I believe that the language of silence is the most natural. Thank you can be expressed by nodding your head or folding your hand (according to Indian culture). When two friends stand too near to each other, it raises the possibility that they are dating. If you push someone, it suggests you don't want to talk to them, you don't like them, or you are attempting to save them from a disaster. For instance, if you start sweating, it might signify that you're not feeling well or that you're afraid of something, and there can be other things as well.  Our eyes, more than our limbs, play a larger role in nonverbal communication. For example, if a man blinks at a lady, it indicates that he is flirting, yet if two players or actors wink at each other, it might indicate that they performed well in their jobs. Proceeding further, when a male and a girl have an eye-to-eye connection, it might indicate that they are romantically interested in one another.  While there are several benefits to silence/nonverbal communication, there are also some drawbacks. One culture's expression of sentiments through hand ideas may differ from another's. For example: thumbs up have different meanings in different cultures. As an illustration, several cultures have distinct interpretations of the thumbs-up sign.

Clark claims that the expression of sympathy conveys the donor's superiority, moral value, and a sense of care or connectivity. I completely concur with the concepts of supremacy and care since that is what they represent in social contexts. When we show empathy to others around us, it has an impact on them. Numerous sociologists investigate how norms manifest themselves in various social contexts and cultural settings. In one trial, a sociologist Sudnow found that hospital employees are among the personnel who offer their patients and visitors compassion, care, and sympathy. Clarks also offered certain guidelines and manners that everyone should adhere to. In other words, if you help someone, don't make them feel as though they are useless without your assistance. This is what he advises people not to do. Rule #2 suggests against being extremely empathetic to a person since doing so may lead that person to become permanently dependent on you, which is bad for both of you. Further rule #3 shows that even while demonstrating sympathy excessively is bad, it should still be done to some level so that others would remember it and assist the other person who is in need. All of the rules are crucial, but rule #4 is particularly crucial for preserving the flow of compassion for others. It frequently happens that when you assist someone, they will ask you to repay by giving you a present. You should always ask them to assist those in need in tough situations.
