Hi everyone! I'm Keithdy Myxczianevier Sim, a 2nd year BS HRIM student.

One of my most memorable moments are depicted in this picture. I always hold a donation drive for the needy every time I see an opportunity. This specific one was a drive for Senior Citizens who lives with minors during the pandemic. They are the ones most affected by the pandemic because both senior citizens and minors are not allowed to go out. Still, these lolos and lolas wager their safety to go to farms and mountains to provide food for their families. This one truly melted my heart. Lola immediately smiled really sweet when she saw that she had visitors. One of her kapitbahays who guided her out of bed told us that she and her husband rarely had visitors. We gave her the goods we were distributing (vegies, rice, biscuits, coffee,hygiene kits, vitamins, etc) and she thanked and hugged us teary-eyed. It was heart-warming and amazing and I will never stop doing things like this.

P.S. I have a youtube account for my projects (more like a personal video log/diary) to keep their memories alive. I watch them almost every week.

Hello everyone! I'm Klar Valad-on, second year from BS Food Technology :). This was me last November 23, 2019, at Araneta Coliseum waiting for my favorite band, Day6, to perform! hehe YAY STAN DAY6!!!

Super memorable because first concert ko 'to and unlike other events, ito yung pinayagan ako ni mama na tapusin HAHAHA (Context: Nung nag Maskipaps and UP fair kami dati, tinawagan ako ni mama in the middle of the event sinabi niya nakapark na siya sa Jollibee kaya umuwi na raw ako huhu). Kaso ang catch nitong Day6 concert ay PLMAT ko the next day ng 8 am so grabe rin yung pakikipagsiksikan ko sa bus para makauwi HAHAHA. Super bangag ako nung PLMAT; halos wala akong tulog, 'di ko nasuot yung outfit na suot ko sa every CET (HAHAHA), and puro Day6 lang laman ng utak ko nun. Milagro na talaga na napasa ko pa yun. Hahaha kaya grabe, thank you day6!!!

Hi! I am Annie Jae Pacis, a BS FLCD student.

I believe this is a photo that initiated my UP story or should I say UP series <3

This was taken at the Tsim Sha Tsui Waterfront Podium Garden in Hongkong. It was actually at this garden that I had some time to reflect on what I would like my future to be especially on which university I should be pursuing my program. I was feeling lost at that time because the college entrance application for UP was about to end and I was not sure if I was willing to take the challenge of becoming an iskolar ng bayan. UP has been my dream school ever since but I was afraid of failure or being rejected. However, when I was there, I saw a lot of plants with maroon leaves (alternanthera brasiliana if I am not mistaken) and it reminded me of UP’s color. It really felt like that was a sign for me to go for UP. I have always been afraid of taking risks or taking the challenge but my time for reflection in HK made me realize how I should be brave enough to face anything.

After our trip to HK, I decided to accomplish all the forms for the UPCAT and I have also submitted my application a few days later. Months have gone by after taking the exam and I saw that I passed UPCAT. Of course I accepted the offer for admission and the rest was history. Who would’ve thought that those maroon plants would eventually lead me to the maroon university.

A lot of things have transpired after that decision. But I am proud to say that here I am now, a Family Life and Child Development major and an Iskolar ng Bayan!

Hi, I'm Vinny and I'm a third year student from BS Home Economics. As you can see, this photo was taken last December 2019, at UP waiting for the parade. LOL this was so funny because we had to cover the oblation xDD if you all know the curse AHAHAH we didn't want to risk it kasi gusto namin mag-graduate eh

This event was memorable for me because I was actually grounded that time. I had to make an excuse sa mom ko, sabi ko na required siyang puntahan kaya ako pinayagan. Excited pa naman ako since I also bought tickets for Maskipaps pero bigla sabi ng mom ko na 10PM curfew ko WAHAHHAA so di ako natuloy manood ng concert with my friends, but at least I got to see the lantern parade and spent time with them.

Hola NSTP gang!
I am Francis Anton S. Garcia (Anton nalang pls HAHA) from BS Food Technology.

This is an action shot from the Spirit Cup tournament at Alabang Country Club from 2017. Compared to a lot of my High School teammates then, I've had only been playing for two years so my inexperience was very apparent on both a physical and mental level. I found it really hard to keep up with their athleticism, skill and game sense so I would often feel very down and beat myself up whenever I made a mistake. Nevertheless (Jae-on trash btw), Ultimate Frisbee was a sport I knew I wanted to play for the rest of my life so I kept on keeping at it. At this point, while there is still so much to improve on, I am fulfilled by the strides I've made in getting better as well as the wonderful people I've met in UP DUO and the rest of the Ulti community so I can't wait to get back on the field.

Really looking forward to the rest of the semester! You guys seem cool HEHE

HELLO! 🤗 Para sa mga hindi naka-attend kanina, I'm Roel, 2nd year student taking up BS Food Technology. Yung picture na ito, medyo in line sa na-share ko kanina HAHAHA.

In this photo, I tried to recreate one of Seulgi's look sa MV nila ng Psycho because why not? eme HAHAHA ang pretty kasi and pretty rin naman ako so 🤷‍♂. Bukod sa skincare, I'm interested din pala sa makeup hihi kasi whenever I put makeup on, I feel powerful kasi natatago ko yung insecurities ko about my lopsided nose and 'di pantay na mga mata. I chose this picture rin kasi naniniwala ako na yes, kahit umiiyak ako dahil sa mga reqs at responsibilities, maganda pa rin naman ako 💁 and I thank you! chz HAHAHA. If you look closely, makikita niyo rin na may poknat ako sa may sideburn area naurrrr 😭😭😭. Natuto na naman ako so 'di na mauulit HAHAHA.

Hiiiii I'm Athena Joelle Medenilla and I have an identity crisis but people would just call me Athena usually - depends on their mood. I'm from BS Family Life and Child Development. Anyway, my friends have told me that I am the "mom" of the friend group because I'm the one that nags at them to eat and rest and has all kinds of things in my bag when we go out.

The photo was taken during a camp and I was the one in charge of cooking the food and making sure that we finish the food that they gave us. Hence, me asian squatting and losing my balance now and then. I really do enjoy taking care of people around me and find joy in knowing that the people around me are at ease or are well taken care of. I think which is why I have so many orgs???

This photo was taken last September 2019, last day ng Intrams and a week ata before UPCAT? This was memorable because I chose cheerdance/intrams over studying for UPCAT non, kasi naisip ko nga na gusto ko muna sumaya (kasi I was experiencing my first heartbreak neto, as well as other moments that made my 2019 a horrible year? HAHAHAHAHA WAG NA MAGKWENTO). Ending, we lost sa cheerdance this day tapos di pa ako nakareview for upcat soooo feel ko na-double dead ako HAHAHA!

Of all the intrams pic I have, ito pinili ko kasi other than preparing myself emotionally for UPCAT results (kase I feel and I KNOW na di ako papasa), I pushed myself to prepare and train some jump tricks and flexibility (lalo na yung pagbukaka na mas malala HAHAHAHAHA 🤸‍🤸‍🤸‍) because my back up plan was to apply sa UP Pep Squad para makapag-aral pa rin sa univ ❤️! Kaya kahit natalo, ang laki ng ngiti ko dito that day because confident ako na tatanggapin ako ng UP Pep Squad 💅 HAHAHAHA ANG KAPAL NG MUKHA KO NOON SORI 😭!

Time skip, I passed naman sadly (AY WAO SADLY TALAGA 😭🤣) and currently struggling in almost all aspects of life, lalo na mentally and emotionally 😔. Yun lang po HAHAHAHA THANK U!

Hello, everybody! My name is Andrei Benedict Mendiola, and I am a 2nd Year BS Clothing Technology student. This is a picture of me from February 14, 2020 back at my high school's auditorium. There was a 'Your Face Sounds Familiar' event, and I dressed up as Mariah Carey... if she had a dry-ass weave!
I feel like most of my college friends know me for being a K-Pop fan -- after all, I am a member of the university's K-Pop org (Speaking of, join Hallyup!!!). One thing about me that I haven't gotten to show much is my love for 90s-00s music.
Although I barely grew up to them, Lauryn Hill, Beyoncé, Britney Spears, Keyshia Cole, Van Halen, Gwen Stefani, Musiq Soulchild, TLC, and Michael Jackson are some of my favorite artists, and their music has served as the soundtrack of many moments in my life. Of course, my favorite artist, and the one who introduced me to everybody else, is Mariah Carey.
Strangely enough, I discovered Mariah in 2016 because of the Ariana Grande Comparisons. Since then, I've been a huge fan. Of course, I love her music, but her glamorous style (she's been the muse of several of my fashion illustrations) and effervescent personality also drew me in. I also relate to her in some ways; she's a total workaholic, she enjoys having complete creative control over her work, and she is NOT a good dancer...
But what I really love most about her is her story, her story of having to fight to be able to express herself, and her story of finding peace with her mental disorder. Those are two things I find myself still yearning to achieve, so dressing up like Mariah made me feel unstoppable. I actually sang Through the Rain, a song that, although quite heavy on the cheese, still does bring me a lot of hope in hard times.
I chose this memory because it shows a lot about me - I love music, I love Mariah Carey, I love dressing up, and I love making people happy! Hopefully through our time in this class, I could do that for you, too.

UP Fair 2020

Hi! I'm Naomi Crisologo, a third-year BS Family Life and Child Development student. This photo is from my first UP Fair last February 2020, when I was still a freshman in college. Not only was it my first time attending one of the UP Fair concerts (Cosmos), it was also my first time to help out as a member of the organization in charge of handling the event!
As you can see, there's one girl who wasn't ready for the photo—and that was me! This was taken at around 12 to 1 AM and I was already really tired (parang obvious naman from how I look in the photo hehe) after a long day of classes, then roaming the fairgrounds from 3 PM onwards nonstop. Even if my body was sore the next day, this has to be one of the most memorable nights in my freshman year and definitely a highlight of my college experience.
I hope everyone can experience the UP Fair (or the campus in general!) in person one day, once the pandemic is over 😄

This photo was the day I graduated senior high, having spent two of the most memorable years of my life. Moved out of my hometown for school, meeting new people, living alone, everything. This picture of my class with my memories close to zero for being too drunk. Yes i graduated with a cast, broke my left wrist due to doing something stupid! Realizing that the most memorable nights are nights that you have no memory of. Beautiful.

Hey guys, it's Jamie. I'm a 4th year student from BS Family Life and Child Development. I love music and writing, but I miss the freedom back then of being able to do these things. I'm quite introverted and I prefer to spend time to myself, but every other night I like to let loose with my friends as well.

This is a throwback photo of my first gig in QC (as a Laguna boy) -and- my first gig in the now defunct Route 196. This also happens to be the first "professional" gig photo that was taken of me. I play in several bands as a drummer and I've played in both UP Fair and Feb Fair among other big gigs. Part of the reason why I'm super chill in the morning is because by night time, I'm wildin' (pero ngayon sa acads).

This photo was taken back in October 18, 2018!! Ito yung araw na nag-audition ako para maging dancer ni Megan Batoon (my fave dancer/youtuber!!) sa 'It's A Girl Thing' event noong bumisita siya rito sa Pilipinas.

Noong nag-announce siya na magpapa-audition siya, naalala ko na tumakbo ako sa mommy ko umiiyak dahil sabi ko "Gusto kong mag-audition pero natatakot akong mareject niya." After ako kausapin ng friends and loved ones ko, siyempre tumuloy ako.

Long story short, itong photo na to ay 'yung moment na pumasa na ako sa audition at nagpa-picture ako kay Megan Batoon. Naaalala ko pa na sabi niya sa akin: "Have I met you before? You're so goooooood!" <3333 Kaya guys, 'pag may gusto kayong gawin, gawin niyo, kahit nakakatakot. :)

A new home, UPD.

Hello! I am Mabea Malana, a 3rd year BS Interior Design student. <3

I gave this the title, "A new home, UPD." because I was a transferee from UP Los Banos back in 2019. My dream is to take up a visual art course, but sa UPLB (first choice was Diliman) ako pumasa before with the course: BA Communication Arts.

I stayed there for one academic year, which was worth it because to be honest, i'd take UPLB over UPD any day (HAHAHA), because of the overall environment (nature, studying environment, etc.) and the people :> Although I want to stay there for good, I still chose to pursue my dream. I may be happy with the campus and people I am with, but not with the course so I tried my best to transfer.

This photo was from one of the days when I was processing my requirements to transfer to UPD. Talk of the town yung mga sunflower sa may Quezon Hall noon so I had to take a photo. The rest is history. I am here now, taking up my dream course. <3

Hello everyone! I'm Israel and I'm currently a second-year BS Food Technology student.

This was taken in November 2019 during the UP Baguio Pride event and it was also my and a bunch of my friends' first pride march!

Pinili ko 'tong photo na 'to since isa talaga 'to sa favorite memories ko and bet ko lang ishare hehe.

Yung nangyari kasi dinecide namin ng friends ko na mag-inuman one of the nights during Intrams szn and after ko magpaalam, I decided to meet up with someone since ewan ko bet ko lang HAHAHAH.

I didn't expect na magfoform kami ng deep connection and he asked me to come with him sa pride and ayun, nabudol ako into coming with and since first time ko nga, sobrang eye-opening ng experience. Prior to that kasi yung exposure ko lang of queer media is the things I saw in the internet. Dun ako unang naexpose firsthand sa ball and drag scene and nakatop 5 rin ako sa best costume!

Yung other person in the photo awoj ko pa rin up to now and I'm very thankful since somehow we're still making things work up to now eme HAHAHA

Minamanifest ko na lang nowadays na sana hindi yun yung last experience ko to partake in the celebration of queer culture and sa public events in general hehe pero ayun.

My chosen photo was taken last February 2020 at the UP Fair. This moment is memorable for me because it was one of my last galas before quarantine began. During this time, news about covid was spreading but there were still no measures implemented for the prevention of the spread. I think this was also one of the happiest times in my life because I just finished my finals and I got to party with my cousins afterwards. I was also eating ice cream in this photo so that was also exciting! I got to see Al James perform live and I got a henna which was also the reason why I received a verbal warning slip from the school admin the following week. Tagal pala mawala ng henna sabi kasi ng kuya dun 3 days lang daw!

Hello everyone! My name is Tim, and I'm a second year BS Community Nutrition student.

Circa 2017, back in Grade 10, this squad was formed mula sa mga estudyanteng hindi nakikinig sa likod ng classroom. Not too long, we became really close, at isa dito naging girlfriend ko until now despite the pandemic 🙏 I trusted them the most and we always had each other's backs, kahit sagutin pa yung lunch o physics assignment ng isa.

This photo was taken on March 2020. Oo po, sobrang saya namin dito, but little did we know eto na pala yung last time na magkakaroon kami ng group pic (for now) HAHAHA This was during our pictorials day for graduation, which was supposed to happen on May 2020. However, the day after this, our school announced the start of lockdown and all students were required to stay home. Despite the sadness that happened the day after, we were able to cherish our pictorials day and I'm thankful we had the opportunity to take some pictures before the pandemic para kahit paano, may baon pa rin na ala-ala.

Akala talaga namin isang linggo lang yung lockdown, but weeks turned into months, and a year later we still haven't gathered together. Thankfully, we all passed the UPCAT at apat sa amin nasa UPD at dalawa sa UPLB. Just like you all, I'm excited for this seemingly eternal quarantine to end to greet the outside world and the people we missed so much. So, stay safe everyone and nice meeting you all din!

Hello Everyone! I am John Robert Betic and you can call me by my surname (mas comfortable yun for me hehehehhe). I am a II BS Family Life and Child Development student.

My chosen photo was taken when I was in Grade 4 during the awarding ceremony for the essay writing contest that I participated in.

I pick this photo because it is one of the moments that opened my eyes that I have my talent and skill. Additionally marami akong magagandang stories during the event.

Through the event, I was able to meet different personalities like Vilma Santos because she was the governor of Batangas, the birthplace of Gen. Miguel Malvar. I have also seen Binay and Riza and Pia Hontiveros, as they were the guest speaker of the event. More importantly, I was able to see the living granddaughter of Malvar, who is a centenarian during that time.

During the break, I also heard someone from Ateneo and La Salle (not sure about this because matagal na eh hahahha) fighting about whether Rizal or Bonifacio should be considered the National Hero while eating.

Overall this experience is a good one for me because I was able to bag the bacon and learn the story of one of the greatest heroes of our country at the same time.

My chosen photo was taken back in 2019. This was when we were preparing a teaching program. We taught elementary children about different concepts in science like basic biology, chemistry and physics. It was memorable because I got to do something special at the end of my HS life. I met a lot of children who are really interested in learning science and made friends with a lot of them. Thankfully, our program was successful and we celebrated afterwards. That's all! Hello everyone! I am Carl Justine Tagura, a third year BS Home Economics student. You can call me Carl.

The photo that I chose was taken back in May 2019. It is a picture of me, at the back, and some kids that we taught as part of the initiative of our church. A little bit of context, as it was summer, and the kids don’t have classes, our church had an activity where we will be teaching the kids. I was just supposed to be helping in managing the kids by handing the food, the school supplies that they will be using, and also supervising them in the activities that we will be doing. On the second day, I was surprised that I was asked to actually teach them, while giving me no chance to reject it. At that time, I was still very shy and had trouble speaking to others so I was super nervous about being in the front and teaching the kids. I am also not that good in teaching so it was a very hard task for me. Given that I can’t reject it, I just resolved myself into teaching the kids and basically just doing my best. Thankfully, I was able to teach the kids and help them have fun with the activities. This is the reason why this photo is so memorable for me as I think that the experience of teaching the kids helped me in overcoming my shyness and be more confident when speaking.

Hi everyone! I am Thea Marie E. Lumabi, a 2nd year BS Family Life and Child Development Student.

This photo was taken during National Science and Technology Fair 2020. These are my groupmates (I'm the girl on the right!) and our research is related to Robotics. This was my last pre-pandemic event kaya I really treasure this experience. The 4-day event was conducted in Novotel in Quezon City. We got to stay in the hotel for those 4 days! And we met a lot of students from different regions. I made friends from different areas of NCR including QC, Las Pinas, Manila and Navotas! Going back, we never really expected to win and become representatives for International Science and Engineering Fair 2020. It is such a bummer na we weren't able to represent the Philippines due to the emergence of the pandemic. We were supposed to compete sa California but it was cancelled :( Nevertheless, I will always cherish this moment since it was the last time I felt that the situation was normal. I really hope we could go back to the days when masks are deemed unnecessary. I never really liked commuting pero I would give anything for us to go back to the pre-covid era.

This pandemic has taken a lot to us pero I hope to get to know all of you! It is super fun to read your entries here!! May we all have a fruitful semester! Nice to meet you all :)
