During my Usrah 1, my group was assigned to do a role play about the topic "between love, hate and light".

Light acts as a guiding force, revealing the complexities of love and hate.

Love, with its focus on connection and growth, strives to build positive relationships. However, light can illuminate the potential downside of love, like possessiveness or enabling behavior.

Hate, on the other hand thrives in darkness and seeks to destroy. Light exposes the negativity of hate and its potential to cause harm. However, light can also reveal the root cause of hate, which might be a desire for justice or need for change.

Ultimately, achieving a balance between these forces is crucial. Love's positive energy can be a powerful tool for good but it needs the guidance of light to prevent it from becoming destructive. Hate, while negative, can sometimes stem from a positive desire for fairness. Light helps us understand the root cause of hate and potentially address it constructively.

This interplay between the three creates a dynamic existence where love and hate can coexist but light helps us navigate them in a way that fosters growth and understanding.

In Islam, love for Allah is the foundation. This love motivates good deeds and discourages actions that displease Him. Light, representing Islamic knowledge and guidance, helps us distinguish between the two. We can love a person for their good qualities but hate their negative actions. We strive to guide them towards the light. fostering a society built on love for Allah and good deeds.

This perspective encourages Muslims to create a world filled with love for the good, while striving to dispel the darkness of negativity and injustice.

For Usrah 2, my group was assigned to present about "The Virtues of Sawm (fasting)".

Sawm, the acting of fasting, serves as a multifaceted practice that cultivates spiritual growth, social responsibility and physical well-being.

Fasting foster a deeper connection with Allah by promoting self-discipline, empathy for the less fortunate and increased focus on prayer and Quran recitation. By abstaining from food and drink, Muslim develop a sense of humility and gratitude for Allah's blessings.

Sawm also strengthens social bonds. Sharing meals during pre-dawn Suhoor and evening iftar gatherings fosters a sense of community and compassion. The act of giving charity (Zakat) becomes even more meaningful during Ramadhan, as Muslims are acutely aware of the need of those less fortunate.

Finally, it can have positive health benefits, promoting discipline and potentially leading to healthier eating habits.

Usrah Budi has taught me many things about establishing positive relationships with everyone. Especially for someone who is an introvert like me. I've had a wonderful session with everyone in the class and even my naqibah is kind, amusing and great advisor. In class, we discussed a various of topics that we can apply in our daily lives and future plans.

I found it quite comforting to be in such positive environment through this usrah session. We did talk and shared our opinions to educate and remind each others. Rather than other session, my naqibah was able to interact well with everyone.

I consider myself extremely fortunate to be a part of this usrah community. I had a wonderful experience with my usrah members and my lovely naqibah.
