Two years ago, I took a much-needed trip with my family. Between classes, work, and my daily routine, I felt like I needed to disconnect from everything, so I grabbed my backpack and went to Máncora.

From the moment I arrived, I felt like I'd made the best decision. The warmth, the ocean breeze, the relaxed people—everything made me feel at peace. As soon as I stepped on the sand, I took off my sneakers and walked barefoot along the shore.

The days flew by. I would wake up early to watch the sunrise, have breakfast with fruit and fresh juices, and then spend hours on the beach, swimming or just lying there staring at the sea. I even tried surfing for the first time. It wasn't as easy as I thought, but I had a lot of fun.

At night, the sunsets were incredible. I would sit by the sea enjoying snacks and cold drinks, listening to soft music, and feeling the day slowly fade away. Afterward, I would go out to dinner with my entire family. I ate ceviche almost every day and tasted the best seafood of my life.

Before leaving, I made a list of everything I needed to bring:

Comfortable clothes, shorts, loose-fitting shirts, swimwear, sandals, and a large beach towel.

Real sunscreen—I'm not kidding, the sun burns hard.

Sunglasses and a hat, a light jacket in case it gets a little chilly when the sun goes down. And of course, a cell phone with space for photos... because everything is Instagram-worthy, I packed light because I wanted to come back with lots of memories.

This trip helped me reconnect with myself. It was simple, beautiful, and necessary. Sometimes all you need is a place like Máncora, the sound of the sea, and a little sunshine to remind you that life is also made of moments like these.
