1. EAP is not a relaxing break from other subjects and it is certainly not a waste of time.

2. In writing, i’ll be more exposed to comparing and contrasting. In listening, i’ll be learning note-taking skills, how to learn to hear the gist of a sentence. In reading, i’ll be learning how to identify main points and analyse the purpose of an article or sentence. Lastly for speaking, i’ll be learning how to deliver my message across clearly. Through, presentations, discussions and debates.

3. 12.5%

4.I would have failed the assessments in semester one

5. It teaches me paragraph writing & topic sentence which makes sentences more organised and coherent. It also boosts your referencing and citation skills.

1. EAP is not a subject involving only grammar and it is not a break from other subjects.

2. In writing, I will be learning the structure of an essay and appropriate planning. Note taking and critical analysis would be shown in terms of listening skills. Next, reading skills would mainly be the identification of main points. Lastly, I will learn how to enunciate words clearly and increase my academic vocabulary.

3. 12.5%

4. I will fail the semester 1 assessment.

5. The EAP course will help my writing in terms of using proper academic terms for my required field of study and proper structure of my writing in general.

1. EAP is not a course that includes only grammar and it is definitely not a waste of time.

2. In writing, I will be able to gain the skill of linking words and phrases with a proper structure. While in reading, I will learn to annotate articles and analyse them. Throughout the lessons, it will also get me prepared for lectures in listening for gist or details. Lastly, being interactive in classes will help me improve my pronunciation and vocabulary.

3. 12.5%

4. I will not get a pass in semester one assessments.

5. It will help strengthen my vocabulary and grammar in essay writing as well as improving my sentence structure.
