It's inevitable that as human beings were going to disagree in many things and want to do things the way they most please us. Government is simply an organization that has leaders who can create and enforce laws through power to control the people within its establishment. Government allows for leadership, order, protection, public services, economic aid and protection for its people. As I mentioned before, Governments can create laws that when broken by people lead to consequences. It's a way to maintain order while attempting to provide a peaceful existence between its people. The type of government a society decides on all depends on what they believe in. Let's take for example a monarchy and a democracy and compare them. In a monarchy is a government where the power is set on an ultimate person whether its a king, queen, or an inherited power. In this type of government its people believe that rulers do hold superior power in which they're considered very sacred. On the other hand a democracy power is set and led by its people in where they also elect representatives to create and establish laws that the people can vote for or against. There are 3 common systems of government: unitary, confederate, and federal. The unitary system gives all of its power to the central government which is a disadvantage to localities. A confederate government believes and abides by a loose union of independent states. A negative to this concept is that it creates a weak central government. It is the way in which they use their limited resources to meet their pleasurable needs/wants. A government is essential in helping a society in its economic aspects. In some societies governments allow a free market meaning prices for goods and services are freely, hence "free" market, set between sellers and buyers by consent. Other governments might use regulation in order to control where and how their resources are being used. If we look at many communist countries they tend to follow a command economy meaning the superior levels of its government decide on plans that are carried out to the rest of the nation. 
Governments are extremely important in economics because ultimately the functioning of its economy is directly correlated to the involvement of its government.
