For my FMP I wanted to create an interactive/immersive event. I chose the topic of salmon farming as it is something important for me and largely looked over in our society. For my experimentation I started looking at the specifics of salmon farming and the environmental impacts within the farming pens. I created some prints that focus on sealice and their effects on salmon. Unfortunately I started my experimentation in a slightly wrong direction and was not able to produce as much visual experimentation just yet.
For more details of my project go to my blog https://www.zuzannamilancej.com/blog

My major project is looking to visualise the feeling of fragility/ vulnerability in relation to emotional distress and specifically anxiety. The topic circles back to year two of IVM during which I started exploring the topic creating a series of "soap doll" sculptures. Unlike my second year, I am going to move away from a figurative approach and visualise the topic non-objectively.

My project is situated in the broader fine art and partly public engagement sectors. I am looking at a final piece which will ideally exist in an exhibition space and will combine elements of both sculpture and painting/ drawing.

The images attached here depict maquettes, which will need to be enlarged. The three drawings provided are A5. More information about the topic and my research and experimentation can be found in my blog:

*Im still in process of figuring out the final piece.

https://vickypatoulioti.wordpress.com/

I haven't experimented with layouts and text yet so all I have is the illustrations to show and some aren't quite finished as you will notice empty unfinished bits on the illustrations. To give you a better understanding of the storyline very shortly our animals loveday and Dutchess escape the house and go to London Zoo and make friends and bring back home an army of animals!

For my FMP, I wanted to do a project about coral bleaching as I did my SIP on this topic in the first year but I felt like there was more for me to explore. For the past few weeks, I have been investigating how I can communicate the issue through experimental photography processes.

My outcome will be a short film, possibly titled "BLEACHED", that presents prints of 15 photographs that I took before the pandemic bleaching. The print lose their colour, just like corals lose their colour when ocean temperatures rise. Below, is one of the videos I have captured. I have just finished filming all of my photographs bleaching and will be turning them into a 1-2 minute film this week.

I want to visually explore the seaside town and highlight its history and interest through illustration. So far I have been experimenting with different mediums and materials, working with paint, pencils and felt tips.

My final piece will most likely be a digitally printed book, featuring my analogue illustrations of Margate. I plan to focus next on page layout. As I plan/make my pages I am considering using multiple squares on a page, double page spreads with images stretched out across and full/half page spreads. I am also going to consider the focus of the image (is it a close up, wide shot etc) to make sure there is variety in my book.

This is not the final layout, but just a compilation of some experiments I have made so far and thumbnail ideas!

For my FMP I am creating a comic / graphic narrative exploring the relationship between mental health and colour. This narrative is based on a personal experience I had when coming out of a depressive state, and how I realised how much my mental health had altered my surroundings. I wanted to translate this experience into a narrative that speaks to those that may have experienced the same / a similar thing and to discuss the difficulty at breaking out of a toxic mental cycle. Although this narrative is based on a personal experience from a while ago, mental health has been a hugely discussed topic throughout 2020 due to the pandemic and therefore I think it speaks to a present audience.

So far I have been solidifying a narrative concept as well as thumbnailing visual ideas and beginning to develop some final pages using digital media. I aim to have my final piece as both a digital comic and a printed one, below shows my progress so far.

Blog: https://aposakat.wordpress.com

This project is narrative-based and is being created as a game. However, the final outcome for FMP will be that of a video piece showcasing some of the driving parts of the story. The game is based on a labyrinth system which is entered by everyone at some point and their objective is to find HER. They do not know what HER is and it is the player's role to find that something and see for themselves where it leads. By HER I am referring to "love" (because in my language every word has a gender and "love" so happens to be female). Many have the belief that "love" is in fact the most powerful force, so I wanted to explore the topic and see it in a more symbolic way, so that I can show how it is portrayed. In the game you get to jump from a 3D labyrinth world into a 2D dimension which mimics the events as if they happened in real life.

My project aims to visualise escapism. I gathered responses on how different people picture their 'happy place' or mental escape, and these stories are the foundation of the project. My final outcome will be a series of moving illustrations that portray an escapist utopia, and these will be animated in a seamless loop ( like the first gif here, for example: https://thisisnthappiness.com/post/167049348963/perception-is-reality-andrey-kasay)

The pdf below shows a summary of some scenarios described in my survey, grouped according to the mood and atmosphere. Each has a moodboard and some rough compositional sketches + colour schemes. I intend to maybe combine or cut down to just 3-4 scenes, but right now I'm still exploring composition, lighting and mood.

Blog Link:
https://leahputnamillustrationvisualmedia.wordpress.com/fmp-project-critique-work/

For my FMP, I aim to create a 1-2 minute digital animation piece. The concept of the narrative is based on memories, and how one associates certain sensory feelings (sight - seeing a certain object or shape, noise - sounds which trigger our memories of environments, touch, etc).
