The main characters name is Conor, he is a wise young man that is very fearless. Other characters that were included are the mom of Conor and also Miss Kwan. The two settings that were mentioned at the beginning were Conor´s house and the school.
-I wonder why Conor is so fearless of the monster?
-I predict that Conor will become friends with the monster as the novel progresses.

The monster chose to tell Conor that certain story first because the monster wanted Conor to be aware of what may happen in the future. Also, to acknowledge the fact that crazy stuff happens at times. Since it was not a lesson the monster perhaps could have wanted Conor to know that this stuff happens realistically and it may have something to do with Conor's future and life ahead of him. Lastly, maybe this story was the most important out of the 3.

The grandmother reacted the way she did because she loves Conor and understood why he did what he did. Perhaps she know the real cause of it- the monster, but instead does not want to bring it up. She was also very rich and could replace everything- even though a lot of it was antique. She would not ever want to hurt Conor- especially with all she is going through with his mom. She went up to her room and cried because she is sad, but not angry.

I think that in the fourth tale Conor will talk about everything going on with his grandma and him. Also, about the monster showing up every time the clock hits 12:07. Possibly about Harry and the drama that they both have created together. Lastly, the father coming and getting into a fight with the grandma and then suddenly leaving because of his kid.

1st tale: The first tale contributes to Conor's life because he is kind of the prince that awakes at moments and goes through a nightmare. The mom is the farmers daughters- die for no reason- Conor let her go at the end. Then the grandma saves on to valuable and antique things as the itches did as well.
These are all connections that I have made between the two characters.
2nd tale: The apothecary reminds me of the monster- and the yew tree. The Apothecary would collect berries from the various plants- just like how there were poisonous plants on the yew tree. The monster mentioned how the yew tree is a healing tree. That sparked something in Conor's mind and he became hopeful that that would be the cure to his mom's cancer. Then, the monster talks about how "handsome" the yew tree was, and made it as a joke because he is the yew tree.
3rd tale: The third and final tale the monster tells is about an invisible man. This connects to situations that Conor is going through because sometimes he feels as though he is invisible, around his friends and when he tore apart his grandmas house he felt like he had no one to go to. Although he was not literally invisible he figuratively felt that way. And the fact that his mum was at the hospital mad it even worse for him. He felt lonely.
