Arrival/Breakfast 8:30-9:00

Yared and Charles are dropped off by their parents. Please check both of their diapers right away, sometimes they need to be changed as soon as they come in. Please take Zamir to the bathroom right after eating breakfast too. The rest of the students arrive by bus. They will need assistance walking in, hanging up their coats/backpacks and they will need to be sat down for breakfast. I offer the breakfast to all students, some may eat some may not. Zamir might have cereal in his backpack that he likes to eat. Or if the school gives trix or yogurt, he likes that. Salem brings a lunchbox with chicken nuggets, we let him eat some for breakfast and the rest for lunch. We have a locked container near the window with extra snacks as the kids want them as well as juice. There is another big container next to the drawers where I keep my work in, there are extra snacks in there, pretzels, goldfish, things like that. The students may have some of that for lunch if they ask for it. Yared is on a bottle which he brings. You may try the puree food for him which is sent by the kitchen, he usually refuses it but you are welcome to try it.

Morning Meeting 9:00-9:30

Encourage students to come over to the rug for circle time songs.

I have a choice board in the classroom where students can select a greeting. Visuals for silly speech song are located on black computer cart. Edible reinforcements are located up on wooded cart in front of room. If you need refills, gummy bears are in back of the room in locked container, other snacks are in the other big locked container on the side of the room.

Sensory 9:30-9:45

For sensory we have multiple sensory bins. Behind the curtain in the shelves there are rice bins. In the sink area on side of the room there is a big valentines day one. Kids can also choose activities such as play dough, legos, magnet tiles, really anything as long as they are playing safely. Playdough is in wooden closet at the top. You can use the trays to make it easier. This is also a good time to check diapers. Please continue to check diapers throughout the day, they do go to the bathroom frequently and it is best to prevent accidents by continuously checking them. Please bring Zamir to the bathroom again as well. He will not tell you that he needs to go so he needs verbal prompts and have him point to bathroom icon located around the room.

You can do additional boom cards by using my log in which is written on the board. Most of my current ones are in the purchased unfoldered tab on the side. There are a TON to choose from.

Lady Bug Counting

10:00-10:30 Recess

Today looks like it will be nice weather, great day for the playground! Take the walkie outside with you, it is in a little white basket on the side of the room. I have a recess bag with tissues, hand sanitizer, chalk etc. I would bring that outside, it is an orange bag on the side of the room.

Center time 10:30-11:30

Center time can be tricky with our kids. They require A LOT of supervision and help with work. I find it is easiest to split the kids among the three tables in the room. You can lock the kids into educational games on the ipad, guided access codes to all ipads is either 1234 or 4321. They might get upset and want to go on youtube but remind them that youtube is not an option. I would put 2 kids at a table, work with one while the other is on an ipad and then switch. The ipads will help them to remain seated. Salem does not really care for the ipad, you can give him another quiet activity such as theraputty, books, puzzles, legos. He does best sitting in the small enclosed area of kidney table. If they get up from the table, it is ok. They are not able to sit for long, just keep an eye on them. Jhn'Carlos might try to run from the classroom. I suggest keeping blue divider in front of door. You can even use the white child lock if need be. All center time work is located in the black drawers in the room near tables. Each student has a folder with their name on it with work. Other work includes file folder games, adapted books, etc. All of that is in the drawers as well. You are welcome to use things in my white drawers on the side but please be careful with pieces to all velcro activities, I do not want them getting lost. You can rotate the kids as needed, it is hard to predict how long each child will take to complete work but it should take a good chunk of time since they all need one to one supervision and help with work. Mateo, Zamir, and Jhn'Carlos can do any type of tracing independently but may need verbal prompts to do it. The remaining students need hand over hand. Any cutting activities, please use adapted scissors, I suggest using a yellow marker to trace the lines where they should cut. Mateo can do this by himself, the rest of the students will need help.

11:30-12:00

Please go get the lunches from downstairs. Salem and Victor bring a lunch but we offer them the main lunch too. They may eat it they may not. Zamir sometimes brings a lunchable, he will need help putting it together. The lunch today should be pizza, all students can have it but Salem cannot have pork so make sure his does not have pepperoni. Offer the main lunch to all students. If they don't eat it you can try and offer extra snacks we keep in classroom. Yared will take his bottle and you can try puree food again from kitchen with him. Mateo is allergic to pineapple. Allergy information is located on the wall in front of room by door.

Choice time 12:00-12:30

This time is used to clean the tables after lunch. Students can play. You can take out puzzles and other toys from the brown cupboards on the side of the room where the child locks are. You can take out anything but please make sure it is all put away after. Jhn'Carlos likes to draw on the smart board during this time and that is okay. You are also welcome to play with the kids or pull them one at a time to do more work.

Take this time for a snack break. You can offer the kids juice and some of the extra snacks we keep in the containers such as gold fish graham crackers or cereal.

2:00-2:30 Work Centers

This is another work rotation time. Please do this exactly the same way as earlier. Put one kid on an ipad while working with another and then switch. Use the same work in the drawers please. There should be plenty in there as it takes a while to get this done with each kid since they need a lot of help.

2:30-3:00 Bathrooms/Recess

Please check diapers one more time and make sure students are dry. If not please change them again. Please take Zamir to the bathroom and verbally prompt him to use the bathroom, wipe, pull up his pants, and flush. Then please make sure he washes his hands. After bathrooms are all set you can take them to the playground until 3:00, 3:05 the latest. They will begin to call for dismissal around 3:15.

Please get students ready for dismissal. Salem, Mateo, Zamir are on the first bus. Katelyn and Jhn'Carlos are on the second bus. Yared is picked up by his dad.
