" The US Supreme Court created a standard for authorizing deadly force in the case Tennessee v. Garner. This standard basically states that the officer must have cause to believe that the suspect poses a significant threat of death or injury to the officer or to people nearby. This standard was called Objective Reasonableness. it also makes the officer not able to be second guessed. All they have to say is that they felt their/someone's life was being threatened, and they simply acted to save their lives"
